But, not in a joyous way, but, in a horrific way, as thousands were murdered in the WTC, the Pentagon, & even Flight 93, when they rebelled & took back the plane (but, could not survive).
Never forget that day. Ever.

History was made 368 years ago today with the Siege Of Drogheda ending when Cromwell's troops captured the Irish town and in the process killed thousands of people, including civilians, even after their surrender.

So you think history is only what is written in history books. Everything that happens in the past is history. Some of it is big and important. But most of it is not. Anyway i think you know what i mean. But you are just acting stupid which often happens on the internet.

clusiumLast week I had a dust up with some yahoos who thought that "joking" about 9/11 was quite ok and that my objecting to such "jokes" made me the one who was out of step with the world. So soon, it seems, many have already forgotten. Some seem totally unaware of the incredible negative changes these acts brought about. We are not talking kids who were too young to have known "before" and "after" 9/11. We are talking so called "adults". For me, the best will be to not read the replies to tribute notes. I, for one will not be forgetting, try though I might !

But, today is the anniversary of the Attack on the WTC, & I was creating a post to commemorate it, which I am almost certain you are aware. I also made a similar thread on the RFS message forum. The only reason I worded the way that I did on this forum, was to acknowledge the anniversary here too, without creating a spam thread.

Wanted to post it but it seems not to be on You Tube. GOOD images for the day : A Walk in the Clouds with the real Phillippe Petit. The way it was on a wonderful day ! Edit : actual title -- To Reach the Clouds /// it was great !

I'll be honest, I didn't get the same feeling yesterday from the news or while interacting with others that I had for at least the first three or four years. You'd think it was the 1993 bombing.

It's certainly changed the course of the world and the U.S. for the worst. Never ending war on terror, suppression of civil liberties, hundreds of thousands of people dead, and of course the worst attack on our nation since Pearl Harbor. Bad all the way around and bad ever since.
Now TSA and Airlines have become the Gestapo of the skies, Muslims are invading the West because we bombed their homes back to the stone age and allowed radicals to grow ISIS like groups and take over their countries, and again our liberties at home are done away with in the interest of national security
I recall pre-911 America and it's changed so much that I do not recognize this nation anymore. I say this as an Army veteran who signed up in 03 and served til 07

...And we're still in Afghanistan 16 years later. Nation building doesn't work.
I agree with the above post. The Patriot Act, the creation of Homeland Security, the TSA, etc. all have reduced our civil liberties in the name of "security."
