Good. While I don't dislike the other ones (both rank as a solid 6.5 imo) I always felt we were getting half what we should with those movies. Ragnarok looks exactly like the type of Thor movie I wanted. Gonzo sci-fi/fantasy action/adventure. And no Darcy! Yeah I know Kat Dennings has one of the best racks in Hollywood but she's annoying af. screenrant.com/thor-ragnarok-new-origin-movie-sequel/

But regardless, I'm cool with a new direction, however the whole idea that the movies are being "restarted" is a bit of a misnomer isn't it? It's not like the others fall out of continuity or anything.

it's a soft reboot because it's common sense even with Marvel that the previous installments were lackluster and have not aged well. But the MCU urgently needs a total reboot to compensate for the pattern of horrible flops a la Iron Fist, Inhumans and all the formulaic mediocrities that did not even get the timeline straight.

I agree the Thor movies were artistically lame (Valhalla as an organ pipe with ugly-as-ass spaceships) and without any re-watch value.
But the new direction now is to not let Loki outshine Thor, and make Thoor funnier...do these people even know what Ragnarök is about (ie total twilight of the gods, all end up dead....?).
I smell an apocalyptical desaster but not as Norse mythology intended....

So the re-boot of MCU starts with Thor: Ragnarok.

I see zero quotes in that article saying this is a reboot.

I see zero quotes in that article saying this is a reboot. It's definitely not a reboot.
It's not even a soft reboot.
A soft reboot would at least be some sort of grey area, but this will have obvious blatant connections.
What they are talking about is a shift in tone that they hope generates so much interest that they can continue the Thor franchise.

So what kind of boot is it? It's not. It's just a tonal shift. Reading the article, it basically just says they're going to focus on Thor more specifically and of course we know he's not going to be tied up with the Jane relationship, so in the end, he's just going to be Thor the badass for the entire film. As somebody who loves the first 2 films, I'm all for that.
Personally, to me I get the impression that they are almost literally going for portraying him as the cosmic champion that Silver Surfer is. The ultimate hero. They even have Thor in Surfer's place for Planet Hulk, although it's told from his perspective instead of Hulk's.

I'd like to see a Thor movie where he and his 4 warrior friends go on some sort of adventure in space (in the space ship that looks like a viking boat). I remember having a couple of comic books about that back in the day (70's or 80's). It could be like a cross between The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy.

I haven't read many Thor comics, so I'd be curious what you would imagine that story to be, or who you might picture as the villain.
