Back in the mid 90's I recall Pearl Jam and Nirvana accepting awards. I hate awards shows whether they be music or film/tv. Come to think of it, it has been even longer since I have watched a movie or tv show awards show.

I never missed the Grammys, back in the day. Of course, that was when I actually listened to new music, and there were artists like Sting and Joni Mitchell and James Taylor being nominated. Once rap rose to the fore, music lost me--as did award shows like The Grammys.

Come to think of it, it has been even longer since I have watched a movie or tv show awards show. I stopped caring about the awards themselves, but tuned in for some of the performances. The last ones I remember were Cee-Lo singing a slowed-down version of "Crazy" while dressed like an airline pilot or military person and Carrie Underwood performing "Last Name" and being outshone by a pretty-much-unknown-then guitarist Orianthi.

2003, that was my last. Already by then they had they become incredible boring and with little or no "rebelious" acts, upsetting the show. The closest thing was probably when Kraftwerk appeared and some poor guy in the audience was all confused over the whole situation and then attacked MTV on live TV. A real "shocking" moment. I remember thinking how sad and pathetic it had become when Good Charlotte were the ones trying their best to act as punkers by doing a Nirvana only 10 years too late, by trashing their instruments, only for one of the band members to either stumble or fall onto his drums. It looked hilarious and not cool, I also think Chris Rock made it worse by making fun of them shortly afterwards.

Honestly Back in the late 70's. I stopped watching (The Grammys) because Stevie Wonder was winning everything every year. It got very predictable and boring.

I think the last full show I watched was The Grammys in 1985 where Lionel Ritchie won Album Of The Year after Michael Jackson won everything the year before.

I've seen a clip or two of Kanye acting like an idiot. Other than that, never.
