I don't have too much of a problem with this. I didn't have a problem with the original choice either, but it appears he did not want to play nice and frankly the franchise is not his property, so adios. I like TFA, so I'm hopeful like our 9 too.

the shroud of the dark side has fallen. Begun the end of the Star Wars has. I am positively mourning this franchise. Only light I see is that Abrams may just be directing...and NOT writing. He is the worst HACK² with that. He's also writing sorry, I would normally have liked your post, but I just could not do it...guess I'm in shock.

Son of a b***h. I actually liked The Force Awakens for what it was - a safe, but enjoyable introduction to some new characters and possibly new stories, very much like his Star Trek reboot from 2009. Of course, his sequel to that ended up just being a third rate Wrath of Khan rehash, and now it's pretty much guarenteed that Episode 9 will be "Return of Return of the Jed". The guy is practically incapable of making a movie that's not a copycat of movies from his childhood, least of all that ET/Goonies wannabe Super 8.

When did "safe" become the buzzword for criticizing a movie? Is a movie only good if it pisses off half the audience or something?

So for a movie in this huge universe seeing the same old shit on the same old planets is boring as hell. There was nothing new visually or story wise.

I don't know how to feel about this. I was excited for Colin honestly. Jurassic world may not have been everyone's cup of tea,but it was enjoyable if you turned your brain off. I also like JJ,but I agree episode 7 felt like a remake of new hope and that's not what anyone wanted. Why did Colin leave anyway?

If you aren't in with Disney 100% you're out.

I mean yeah they say creative differences lol. But I seriously doubt he left of his own accord. Same with the Han Solo guys.
