comicbook.com/movies/2017/09/14/spawn-reboot-movie-low-budget/
So, in recent months I've been hearing some buzz about a Spawn re-boot, so I saw the first one again (on Netflix) just for laughs, and it was... horrible! That movie blew! It was just as bad as I remembered it. Sorry Spawn fans.
The problem? It was low budget! So now Blumhouse wants to do it and they're going to do it low budget again?
Doesn't McFarlane learn? Bad move.

Wasn't it going to be from the perspective of the cops Sam and Twitch? I remember McFarlane comparing it to 'JAWS'.

Spawn will be an horror/suspense movie. Departed meets Paranormal Activity, with some influences of The Ring and the Grudge. Sam and Twitch will be the Protagonists, with Spawn in the background.

At this point, I'd rather see a movie about the legal battle between Todd McFarlane and Neil Gaiman over character rights. The way Bob Chipman put it, it'd make a fun quirky drama in the vein of The Big Short or something.

I am looking forward to seeing 'Spawn.' I am not too sure about the change of direction but it is one of the Horror/Superhero movies I want to see the most along with 'Razor', 'The Crow' and 'Avengeleyne' and it is also a movie I feel is LONG overdue with Spawn being one of the Top 10 biggest selling superheroes of all time. The last live action movie was very disappointing especially when you consider they were going to make an entire movie franchise of it like 'The Crow' and one of the main reasons I believe it flopped was not just the low budget but 'cause it was watered down and should have been far more violent and gory. That was actually the main thing most Spawn fans I know complained about and why they liked the 'Spawn' animated series more and if they are going to do 'Spawn' right this time it needs to be full on Horror and nothing like we have seen in a comic book movie before. I am not sure if Leonardo DiCaprio is still going to be in the movie but I think Todd should get a big name lead.

the first one had far deeper issues than its production values.
