Australia cap off an underwhelming tour of South Africa with a heavy loss in game 3 sealing a 3-0 sweep for the Saffers. Australia were without Starc who's fpown home to watch his wife Alyssa Healy in the WWT20 final. A hundred from Marnus and 30s from Short and M.Marsh got Australia to a bearly passable 7-254 and they were never in the hunt with Smuts making 84. Klaasen 68no and Vereynne 50. Saffers winning by 6 wickets and 27 balls to spare. Hazelwood bowled really well, taking 2-37 off his 10 with Zampa 1-45 off 10) the only other good performer for Australia with the ball.
If memory serves Australia's won 1 of their last 14 against the Saffers.

The Aussie girls are doing the job here at the moment. World Class catch from Alyssa Healy to dismiss the dangerous Shafali Verma. As good a catch standing up to the stumps as you will see. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again - the skill and glove work of the keepers in ladies cricket is superior to the men’s game, where batting is seen as a greater priority than keeping. Anyways, India 4/30 chasing 185. They need 155 off 86. Not looking flash for the girls in blue.....

So missed out on the record attendance for a women's sports event. They needed J Lo in a tiny dress rather than a six month preggers Katy Perry in maternity clothes. In all honesty it was likely the MCC members who let them down.
Here's what 90'000+ for a women's sport event looks like. Entertainment's not bad either...

Complaints this morning that it was televised in 9Gem rather than 9. The British equivalent would be BBC2 rather than BBC. In its place they had the Nightly News and I believe Married At First Sight.
Given that Gem is available in all capital cities and most regions, including remote WA and Northern QLD, anyone who wanted to see it on FTA probably did, or at least could have. Unfortunately any finish north of 8pm on a Sunday is past my bedtime. I didn't watch a ball.

Kiwi trundler Lockie Ferguson being tested for Corona. That'll be two weeks in quarantine for all involved if he tests positive.

I'be gotta say I agree with my girl Ness Hudgens. Not because I think she's right, I just think she's hot.

Imran Khan is a cuck. Friday prayers to go ahead as normal in most of Pakistan The Pakistani government is still reluctant to annoy the religious lobby by ordering a blanket ban on congregational prayers in mosques - even though such congregations have been banned in several Islamic countries amid the coronavirus outbreak. On Thursday, it indicated it may "restrict" mosque congregations, but stopped short of spelling out details. However, the provincial government in Sindh, which has recorded the most cases in the country, has taken the lead by ordering that only up to five people - the prayer leader and mosque staff - could offer joint prayers in a mosque. The restrictions came ahead of Friday congregational prayers which are usually attended by large crowds. They'll be in force until 5 April. Hours later, the government of another province, Balochistan, ordered similar limits on joint prayers until 4 April. The indecision of the federal government, led by Prime Minister Imran Khan, appears to stem from its reluctance to annoy influential professional clerics at a time of the year when they raise donations to run their activities. The present Islamic month, Shaban, and the one to follow, Ramadan, are the time for the faithful to pay Zakat, or an annual Islamic tax. Much of this money finds its way into more than 35,000 religious seminaries run by these clerics across the country. The mainstream Hanafi sect runs the bulk of these seminaries, and has been the most vocal in opposing restrictions on religious gatherings. www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/world-52058788

Going stir crazy so had to get my Cricket fix. Watched the Box Set of the Ashes Series 2010/11
1st Test - Fortress Gabba - Match Drawn
Peter "Banana Man" Siddle takes a hat-trick (on his birthday as well) and ends up with 6 wickets. Mr. Cricket, who amazingly was under pressure for his place in the Oz side gets a 195 - Haddin also gets a ton. Finn takes 6 wickets Strauss gets a ton. Cook gets a double ton Trott gets a ton as England post 517 for 1 in second innings! Cook breaks The Don's Gabba record.
2nd Test - Adelaide - England Win
Broad and Katich both are injured and out of the series. Mr. Cricket gets a 90. Cook gest a ton. Pietersen gets a double ton. Anderson bowls beautifully for 4. Swann gets 5. Michael Clarke refuses to walk after taking the leather off of the ball (Broad was watching no doubt...)
3rd Test - The WACA - Oz Win
Mitch Johnson had been bowling to the left, then bowling to the right, and quite frankly his bowling was shite. He promptly loves Perth (not for the only time) and bags 6. Ryan Harris takes 6 and once again shows that Oz were robbed of a quality bowler due to his injuries. Mr. Cricket gets a ton. Tremlett and Finn show themselves to be a potent tall pacey attack, but alas things would curtail the promise...
4th Test - Melbourne - England Win
Oz routed for 98. Tremlett get 5. Anderson gets 5 Siddle gets 6. Ponting has a meltdown and rows with the umpires. Trott gets 160. Big Tim Bresnan brought in in place of Finn - who was deemed as being too expensive - Brez swings it, he's no Alan Igglesden, but he's got something has the big man.
5th Test - Sydney - England Win and take the series 1-3
Cook gets a ton. Bell gets a ton. Prior gets a ton. A certain Steve Smith gets his first test 50... Anderson again proves he handles the Kookaburra by bowling superbly and deserved better than a fourfer. Anyone remember Beer? Doherty? Oz lack of a quality spinner in the series was crucial since England had a fired up Swann.
The series also saw Phillip Hughes playing for Oz, one can't help feel a sadness watching these reruns of a life snuffed out so young and so unfortunately. Hope the little fellow is sleeping easy.
Thoroughly enjoyed spending 6 hours watching the series tonight, hopefully this virus can feck off and we can get back to watching the greatest game being played live.

Good summary Hitch - probably Australia’s lowest ebb as a Test Nation in terms of performance since the mid 1980’s.
Of course we remember Doherty and Beer. Neither usually get a mention because they both suck hard. Neither should have ever gotten a test cap.
