England win by 59 runs as SA are bowled out for 289, with Archer taking a ODI career best 6 for 40. SA have won the series 2 - 1. I hope Malan gets man of the match for his stunning innings, but Archer and Buttler are in the mix too today.

Not to the Saffers. A win and they jump over the Windies into 8th and automatic WC qualification. Lose and they have to finish top 2 in the qualifying group (which they will, but well and truly the long way around). And England win. Saffers remain a game outside direct qualifying. Way I see it, SA only need to beat Netherlands - in the upcoming 2 game series, to automatically qualify!

6ers bow out with a very poor performance against an undermanned Brisbane. And before anyone tries to mitigate the loss with "Sydney were undermanned as well" the 6ers always claim that they go for depth rather than dependence on national players. Brisbane do the opposite. This should have been a lay down misere. They scored 116. Goodnight Felicia.
Perth vs Brisbane looks like a rather anti climactic final but Brisbane are on a hot streak. They could surprise us.

As Jarrod Kimber asked a week ago: "What if every problem in South African cricket isn't Temba Bavuma's fault?"

BBL Final has a whacky 1st over. 3 genuine nicks all travel through 2nd or 3rd slip at catchable height and go for 4. Superb bowling, but Brisbane away with 13 at the top.

Genuine chance of an upset in the BBL. Scorchers currently 3-66, needing 109 off 60 balls to win their 5th title.

a 19 year old guy has exploded since then. And he was dropped in the 19th over. Perth win. Never tried a Yorker but he's no Wasim or Waqar, ended up a shin high full toss which was hit for 6. That, at last, was game over.

I know it's not cricket relates but just happened upon Tara Rushton's Wikipedia page. First paragraph "She is responsible for dismantling the Melbourne Storm's big 3 and turning Cronk against his team mates." Seems not entirely factual...

I know it's not cricket relates but just happened upon Tara Rushton's Wikipedia page. First paragraph "She is responsible for dismantling the Melbourne Storm's big 3 and turning Cronk against his team mates." Seems not entirely factual... Best thing about Wikipedia - it can always be edited. Seriously though, what is it with Australian sports and wild rumours ? It was well documented at the time that Rushton had turned down several gigs to continue to live in Melbourne, and that Cronk was moving to Sydney for her career. Cronk repeatedly said that had he not gotten an offer worthwhile from a Sydney club, he’d happily retire; and that if he had a preferred destination it was with a club that was in the mix for premierships. The chooks fit the bill perfectly. As for ‘turning against his teammates’ - it’s well known that Slater and Smith were never good mates with Cronk. Professional to a fault, but off the field they just weren’t that close.

Anyways, back to the cricket.
Brathwaite and Chanderpaul put on a 336 run opening partnership for the Windies against a hapless Zimbabwe. 374/2 at lunch on Day 3. The son of a gun is 161* and is no doubt eying his old man’s best score of 203……

Zimmers lose Ervine off the last ball of the day to finish 3-114, still 134 away from avoiding the follow on.
Tag caught his old man: 207no

Aaron Finch officially retires from T20Is. Probably Australia's most unlikely World Cup winning captain. He retires as Australia's highest run scorer in the format and his 172 (76 balls) against Zimbabwe is the record score by any batter in a T20I.
Even with a lean run towards the end he still finished with an average of 34.28 and a strike rate of 142 from 103 games which is a tick better than Warner in both categories for perspective. 19 50s and 2 100s.

Tournament leaders Pretoria Capitals posted a blistering 226, but Paarl Rocks only have to score 163 to qualify for the semis. After a few bruising boundaries Paul Stirling is out for 19 and Jos Buttler joins Jason Roy in the middle at 30 - 1. OMG, Roy is out LBW to Nortje, make that 30 for 2 after 3 and a bit overs. Do Paarl Rocks go for the win, or will they settle for reaching 163?
