Just happy Stranger Things didn't win best drama, i can go a month before people start raving about an overrated season two or a sophomore slump.
Veep has won enough.

Other than Planet Earth, I haven't seen any of the nominated shows, apart from the first two episodes of Stranger Things and the first two of Westworld, neither of which grabbed me; and most of The Crown (I think I never got around to the last few episodes). I will probably give The Handmaid's Tale a shot sometime.
I like the few episodes I've seen of Veep. Modern Family used to be wonderful but having seen a few of the more recent episodes it has really run out of steam in a big way and I am surprised they are still nominating it.
I didn't watch the Emmys so can't comment on the show itself.

Ever since the end of Breaking Bad, it has been a celebration of pornography, and now that the dragon porno wasn't eligible, it turned into a celebration of ant-Christian bigotry in its top prize.
It really is a pulse reading of how pathetic, sad, and lost society is.

Could care less. It's become very political. Stephen Colbert needs to go and die somewhere.

Couldn't watch it (or Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, NFL football, Price is Right) because the local CBS affiliate and a certain cable provider- because the company doesn't want to say it- are having a little monetary dispute.

I never watch awards shows. Life is too short.
But I did see who were the winners and nominees.
Really glad to see The Night Of get an award for Riz Ahmed. That was a fantastic show that deserves more appreciation. Too bad John Turturro and Ahmed were up in the same category because both of them were great.
I haven't seen a lot of the shows that were in contention for major awards. Will have to take a look at Stranger Things, Black Mirror, This Is Us, Big Little Lies, Atlanta.
I look forward to episodes of Veep, The Americans, House of Cards, and Homeland, but none of these shows has been as good in recent years as in their early seasons. In fact, if I had never seen them before and had just started watching any of them this past season, I would not have continued.
I have never felt any desire to watch Better Call Saul, Shameless, Transparent, Ray Donovan. I watched one or two of the first episodes of The Crown and eventually will watch more of it, one of these days. I keep saying I'll take a look at Master of None--one of these days, I guess.
The Westworld is a mixed bag. Amazing potential, but way-too convoluted presentation. I also thought Jeffrey Wright was miscast for his part, which is one of the crucial roles. (He can be a terrific actor sometimes, but not in this role.) I can see why it didn't win more nominations and awards at the Emmys.
Fargo is one of the best shows ever. This current season wasn't quite as good as the other two, but still enjoyable.
I liked The Handmaid's Tale, but I think a large part of its appeal is more the general story's political and social commentary (especially at this particular moment in time) than for great acting, screenwriting, etc (although Ann Dowd absolutely deserved her individual Emmy award--because of her, I'll have to take a look at The Leftovers, which I hadn't even heard of before).

Very disappointed that the excellent "Feud: Bette & Joan" did not win one single award. Jessica Lange absolutely deserved to win as Outstanding Lead Actress in a limited series. Very happy that "The Handmaid's Tale" won so many. Quite satisfied with the awards won by "Big Little Lies" too.

I didn't watch it. I don't care about the Emmys at this point. I'd rather watch Seinfeld on Hulu.

It is certainly socially and politically relevant, but really in a perfect world The Leftovers should've been contending as well. Westworld is very frustrating to be a fan of because on one hand, its a bit inconsistent, however its also very thought provoking as well. It clearly did something right since I can't stop thinking about it at all.

Anyway, just glad Riz won. That was one of the best transformations I've seen on TV.

And Rorschach is perceived as insane, but is right about most things. What he is or is not conceived to be matters not at all.

A stupid, meaningless award ceremony. Although not as bad as the Oscars obviously.

Well, calling the Emmy's and GoT a "celebration of pornography" is something Alan Moore would have Rorschach say while Moore snickers to himself. As are a lot of the posts I see from you, like your assertions about Moonlight being a SJW promo ad because it depicts a gay black man as, I don't know, existing? You disappeared after I confronted you about it. Rorschach is perceived as insane because he is insane.

A stupid, meaningless award ceremony. Although not as bad as the Oscars obviously. The Oscars are a complete joke. They are almost totally political. Every year they must nominate an obvious 'black' film. Every year, no matter what, there will be complaints about not enough black actors nominated. It's ridiculous. Any time a black person or film gets any kind of award I look at it as illegitimate. It should be about quality but it's not. Liberals have ruined pretty much everything once good in America.

However, no non-fiction movie ever made as ever depicted a central subject as just "existing." There is a reason, a purpose, a message behind everything. It's absurd to believe otherwise. And I don't know what Moore will be snickering about, but I'm still waiting for you to explain how the observation is incorrect? I wonder how many GoT scenes have been posted on Pornhub in the meantime?
