If you're ashamed of comics, maybe. Anyways, lower ratings are due to audiences thinking they had to watch all 4 prior shows and a lot didn't want to do that. Sadly the Defenders promos didn't make it clear you really don't need to watch all 4 prior series. Show wasn't that well marketed. And no, it's not the start of any reboot since the MCU Netflix shows are a relatively tiny sector of the MCU. sounds like a solid piece of denial there, sam. But there is still light at the end of the MCU tunnel: I am sure the Inhuman's viewership numbers will soon make Defenders look like a certified triumph. Remember this is all MCU: a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. Nah, a few minor TV failures won't harm them.

I'm not surprised, I did not watch it either after all. Why bother with mediocrity when there is so much excellence out there?
But I agree that is significant that there were more viewers than for the much maligned Ironfist show. Defenders should be the culmination of the previous shows after all, but it turned out to be an anticlimax.111
