Whom do you prefer? I like both but will give a very-slight edge to Blake.

I chose potter. His vocabulary was quite funny. Whereas they both understood why Hawkeye and Trapper did what they did, so did Potter. Heck, Potter had a couple of hobbies, too -- his mare and painting. I also chose Potter because he remained faithful to Mildred. - I looked it up to make sure. It is a hard feat that no married person on the show was able to conquer. even bj was tempted.
Also, he was not swayed by frank and his crap and called frank out on it whenever he shelled it out. Henry was often swayed by frank and his crap and was even under investigation for being incompetent BY frank. who he did not discipline afterwards. what?

Blake, although I like both. McClean Stevenson was so good in that role.

I had to go with Blake. He was just as much as misfit as the rest and often times just as hilarious. The back and forth with him and Burns and Hot Lips was priceless. That was lost when Potter came onto the show.
Potter was very good the first few seasons, too. Don't get me wrong. I just prefer Blake.

Col Potter. He was smart and kind and a great doctor and yet he didn't take any shit. Henry was funny but he was such a pathetic pussy that no one repected it was impossible to believe he would have received the rank of Colonel. Also I never got the feeling he was better than an average doctor at best.

Both are really great ... but the death of Blake was a tear-jerker ... at 1:38 in video (#1)

Henry was great for laughs but for sheer realism, I have to give to Col. Potter.

...prior to Harry Morgan becoming Potter on the show, he did an episode playing a slightly insane general who did a politically incorrect item (by today's intolerant standards) which really showed off Morgan's comedic sense. That is one of my all time favorite episodes. But between the two commanders, I liked Blake.

Potter was a good character, , but I much prefer the Early seasons of MASH, so I would have to pick Henry.
