If you read articles all through this season they literally said the same story in different words. One article was headlined "Will Arya ever be able to redeem herself"? I could not keep myself from laughing at the stupidity of that article. What crime has Arya committed in the first place that she needs to redeem herself? She apparently is a psychopath because she killed Frey and other strong men of House Frey. Point to note is that she didn't kill ordinary soldiers of House Frey but those big kins of Lords and aristocrats. Those were same people who were cheering at the heinous crimes committed at Red Wedding when Lord Frey was giving his speech (actually Arya disguised as Lord Frey). In fact doing so might have saved many ordinary soldiers of House Frey in causing them not to associate in future wars. Others were sulking that Arya apparently is too egoistic and shows off her skills. That's also wrong because Arya didn't mention her amazing achievements. In short every other tom dick and harry was hating Arya this season.

Arya is a cold blooded killer. She used to be cute as she learned her trade and interacted with the killers that trained her.
Her likeability is despite due to that and so, as she kills more and more, it is understandable people would start cooling to her as the cute little Stark girl and especially in this last season where her very best scene was the first episode and it was largely due to actor playing Walder Frey and the scene in the final episode acting like a sister with Sansa.

"Hate" is way too strong of an emotion to feel towards Arya, she hasn't done anything to warrant such. I have grown away from her myself, but would still love to see her become a bigger part of the big picture even though taking out the entire Frey house was pretty huge. She hasn't even told anyone she did that, so egotistical doesn't really describe her either. Going up against Brienne was mostly to keep her skills intact, IMO. They need to spar more often. Taking out Littlefinger was on the wishes of her sister and necessary to prevent even further damage than he'd already inflicted. I don't see any reason at all for "hate."

The thing is that Arya is supposed to be an assassin, not a badass warrior. Assassins do their work in secrecy, and leave no trace of their presence. They also make themselves inconspicuous. Arya killing all the Freys...fine. But doing it in front of some wenches, and saying 'Winter done come for House Frey, lol' kind of betrays her skills and doesn't really make any sense. Sparring with Brienne is also weird. Again, she should want to remain inconspicuous and not reveal her true power, but they just have her go toe to toe with Brienne. Finally, bringing Littlefinger to trial makes sense, but again, she shouldn't have been the one to kill him, because again, she should want to remain inconspicuous. Besides, I'm sure plenty of knights of the Vale would've been happy to cut open Littlefinger's throat. None of that is really a big deal. It just doesn't make sense. She was trained to be an assassin, so she should act more like one.

She was trained to be an assassin but her motive to learn with them was to be able to learn skills that would help her to extract revenge for her family. All along it was all about revenge for her. Right from the time she made her list and said that as prayer. I wonder how you ignored all that.

She acts the way she does so her stupid fans can cheer out loud at it. She had intelligent fans in the past but I doubt they're still watching.

If you project your own code of conduct on her then you may feel so. She was very articulate in letting her enemy know when she said if anyone asks what happened here then tell them "The North remembers". "Winter came for House Frey." So she is very determined to take revenge as a Stark and let those people who hurt Starks know that Starks are extracting the revenge. She is clicking on her plans. Let me know when she fails. Might be she will be the one to kill Cersei.

She's not really even a true Faceless Man because of that. Only difference I can see being that she doesn't care about operating in secrecy and was able to both hold onto and carry out her list. I do wish she'd be a little more circumspect but maybe that somehow leads to her death, if she dies.

She declined to kill the people that faceless men wanted her to kill. (Decline in deeds not in words).

They kill neatly, discreetly and in secrecy. They aren't warriors in the sense that knights are. Why is she able to go toe to toe with Brienne? Brienne is a full-fledged badass knight...she should've destroyed Arya. It's whatever...just would've made more sense for her to be more secretive about her true skills.

Yea I don't get it. I mean if her conversations with Sansa were actually legit instead of deliberately misleading I would've ended the season very much disliking her character. But since it was a big ruse to mess with Littlefinger I left it still loving her and her journey.
If you hate her for being a murderer then there can't be many characters in the show that you actually like. Bran I guess.

But since it was a big ruse to mess with Littlefinger I left it still loving her and her journey. Was it a ruse? From what I read or heard elsewhere, it wasn't. The explanation I saw was that Arya was testing her sister, which ended in her trusting her and handling her the valyrian steel dagger. It had nothing to do with misleading Littlefinger. The showdown in the finale built on top of their confirmed trust but was not prepared by it.

Whether it was a ruse to mislead Littlefinger or a test of lies to check Arya and Sansas relationship, the development of Aryas character was a falsehood that she created. A lot of people myself included were turned off by her comments toward Sansa about their father and Joffrey and her 'betrayal' in season 1. But in the end that conflict was not legitimate...which is the point.
I took a lot of their banter to be a show for Littlefinger to make sure he assumed they were at odds so as to catch him off guard in the finale. But either way Aryas earlier actions are redeemed, to me.

And a couple of Sand Snakes (that's a positive, right?). And a worthless prick who was talking shit about her. And the whole of Ned Stark's retinue in Season 1, but they were northerners. Winter kills them anyway.

I doubt that's the reason you like Cersei...but if you want to make that your point I'd argue many innocent lives were lost in that explosion along with the fanatics. That her slate isn't that clean.
