"Never believe what you publish, and never publish what you believe."The sleazy tabloid journalist Richard Dees (Miguel Ferrer) is always on the lookout for the juiciest, most tragic, bloody and gruesome stories to exploit, especially the ones that will guarantee him a secure place at the headlines the next day. However, his latest story, might just be his very last, where as Dees suddenly find himself stalking some lunatic, all dressed up as count Dracula and who drives around from town to town in a small plane, only to leave behind the grisly remains of his latest victims.A good little horror-movie based upon a short-story by Stephen King, and where Miguel Ferres delivers a solid peformance as Richard Dees. I only wished an upgrade either on DVD or Blu-ray would soon arrive as my old DVD version have terrible sound and picture quality, and it seems like the other DVD release is out of production.

I'm sorry, but "Evil has a flight plan" has to be one of the most useless tags in movie history.
I kinda liked the short story, but they'll make SK adaptations out of anything.

Never read the short story, but I always had a soft spot for this movie. Some good performances, and all around an enjoyable "6/10" late night horror flick.

I didn't like the ending, but the movie was pretty enjoyable otherwise.

I'd never heard of it before, but some podcast was doing a reciew of Stephen King adaptations and this one came highly recommended. Yes 'Evil had a flight plan' is indeed a horrible tag line, but the movie itself is not bad, actually. It was a surprisingly good looking, and well played little film. A little different and a little challenging because the character is such a difficult person to get behind. He's rough and sleazy, and he does some really unlikable things throughout the movie. But I think the little niche occupation is a good angle and makes the movie a bit more original than it could have been.
And I appreciated the ending. It was very dark and cynical, which actually surprised me. It's almost more of a film noir story than a traditional horror movie story. No heroes, and an investigation which yields onmy more hopelessness and more loss of ideals. It's not a great film, but it's got a lot going for it. I feel like it's a shame this director never really did anything else of consequence because this first-film showed a great deal of promise.
And oh-the-irony of Family Guy making fun of unimaginative writing. If that's not the pot calling the kettle an unimaginative writer...
