6/10 – good and bad sergeants are drearily overdrawn; every cliché you've heard about the war is crammed into the script.

8/10 - The musical score is beautiful, and the 2nd half of the movie is intense.

9/10 Probably my favorite war movie. I love the message that the pot smokers are the good guys and the drinkers are evil. Just like real life.

I think this is maybe the only Vietnam War film I've seen I liked enough to buy. I wanted to like (or love) Apocalypse Now but I found it kinda underwhelming. But Platoon really does deliver. Not Stone's best film (that would be JFK) but still I give it a 10/10.

9/10. Oliver Stone's best film by a longshot.

Saw it once and didn't care for it much.
