That's great, but I'm worried about that finale.
Have they directed episodes?
Looks like they've both done one.

I believe they've done two and both were great (Walk of Punishment S3E3 and Two Swords S4E1).

Holy shit! This is pretty decent news(Nutter is good as long as the material is).
I'm going to be honest. I did not expect these guys to come back but I'm disappointed some of my favorites aren't getting one more chance.
1. Neil Marshall(blackwater and watchers on the wall). Still my favorite battle scenes on the show.
2. Alex graves. Did 2 episodes in season 3 and 4 in S4. I thought his work was astounding in S4.
3. Alan Taylor. Sigh..... I really wish he got another chance. I feel his last episode was terribly rushed and unsatisfactory. Not at all like his style
4. Michelle MacLaren is really good anytime I see her.
I do think it's appropriate for D&D to close out seeing as they know where they are going better than anyone. Even though I do hate them

I bet at least two of the three of those episodes, if not all three, are massive battles. The finale is actually going to be directed by the the writers themselves, D&D.

They've spent a decade of their lives bringing the show to life and we owe them thanks. Plus they know exactly how its going to end so it makes since that they're directing it.

Very excited that Nutter and especially Sapochnik are back. Also interesting to see D&D directing the finale. Two Swords remains the best Game of Thrones season premiere for me, but they haven't done a finale-like episode until now. I just hope the dialogue will be good, that can make or break the season.

I am pumped. This is a great lineup and you are correct, Two Swords was easily the best premiere and D&D have done a great job in their short Directing history.

So I suppose my dreams are 100% crushed that they could possibly go back on their 6 episodes only stance.
I guess my only hope now is that each episode will be about an hour and a half and a few longer than that.
I think GOT deserves it. It's the biggest show ever with so many good characters.

I'm sure all six episodes will at the very least be as long as the S7 finale. I'm sure the bigger episodes will be longer.

Hopefully the scripts are superb. It all starts there. They were great for the most part in season 7. For the most part. Except for the whole Dorne collapsing in a single episode (we're talking about the only kingdom that successfully resisted the Targaryens) and Benjen's death.
