Interesting. TEXT: A deleted scene from the upcoming home video release of Homecoming has emerged online. In what appears to be an alternate post-credits scene, we see Davis still webbed to his car after his run-in with Spider-Man earlier in the film. He struggles to escape and eventually rings his nephew to say he won’t make it to see him, calling the kid Miles. screenrant.com/miles-morales-mcu-confirmed-spider-man-homecoming-deleted-scene/

wonder why it didn't make the cut. perhaps Sony wanted to give their upcoming animated project a little breathing distance.

I wonder how old miles is? Im guessing pretty young, Aaron Davies in the film says ' I dont want those guns in this hood, i got a nephew who lives here ' you dont really get that protective over like an 18 year old for example

I can't decide whether this would've made Homecoming better or worse. 'Course, it's hard to tell because I never saw it because of the Great Ten Dollar Scandal of 2017. But that's a story for another time. Anyways, screw Miles Morales, amirite? He would be to the MCU what the universally despised character of Rey already is to Star Wars: the ultimate focus-grouped Mary Sue mess of a cynical mainstream PC conceit of a character. The longer he stays out of any incarnation of Spider-Man, the better.
@weirdraptor said it best once: "I don't want to read about Miles Morales. I want to read about Peter Parker as Spider-Man."

Indeed. Plus, there are a ton of Spider-Women who have existed in Marvel Comics for decades. Marvel Studios should just use them. Or hell, I'd take Spider-Gwen before I'd take Miles.

Well no. It's not like the films have followed the comics to the letter. Of course it's possible, but I don't see any reason to assume it's likely.

I'm still not sure how Jessica Drew could possibly be Sony property. She has nothing to do with the spiderverse so why would Sony have her just because her name is spider woman?

From what I read, and bear in mind it's speculative, it seems that Marvel still owns Jessica Drew and Sony has Julia Carpenter.

I've no aversion to watching the film apart from not finding its premise (third reboot of Spider-Man 1 in fifteen years and the second in five) particularly interesting. I would see it as long as I didn't have to spend any money on it!

I would see it as long as I didn't have to spend any money on it! Its completely different from all five prior Spider-Man films and well worth the time and money. And honestly, this is the truest comic page-to-film version of Peter Parker yet.

Then the MCU can use her. At least that way we'd also have an alternative to the publicity stunt that is Miles.

I am still confused why Miles was not Spidey. His uncle amd best pal are in this movie why not have him as spiderman? I really don't think this a mystery. Most people have no idea who Miles is and would think it was weird to suddenly have some other Spiderman. Slowly introducing him to take over the role is the only way to go really. And the only possible way to have Miles show up first is if you pull a Hank Pym and have Peter around as older character, or at least show that he used to exist, which wouldn't really seem to fit. They wouldn't have just started with Scott Lang without having Hank around, and starting with Miles without Peter doesn't work either. So that's why they didn't use Miles.

Now that's interesting, but Julia Carpenter wasn't related to Spiderman either was she? Didn't they find her way back in Secret Wars on the Beyonders planet?
