......the worst director in movie history?  When I say "pound for pound," what I mean is - in relation to the amount of money directors are paid. e.g. Is Uwe Boll worse than Hack Snyder? Probably. But he doesn't get paid a shitzillion dollars to direct his crap. So pound for pound, Hack Snyder is worse. |

I know you're trolling, but I'm going to give you an honest response.
Snyder isn't a bad filmmaker. There are different types of directors.
Some directors are great at taking a poorly written script and making the story better.
Some directors are great at taking a great script and actors and adapting it, but if you don't give them a strong script or actors, they aren't as good at making adjustments.
Some directors have a specific style, and they don't care if it is good or bad, they stick to it.
Snyder is the second one. His films "Dawn of the Dead", "Watchmen", "300", and "Man of Steel" are good films. It's when he tries to do his own thing where he messes up a lot.
I'd say if you give Snyder a good script with good actors, he can make a good film. His visuals are unique and well done.

despite thinking he has mucked up the DCEU pretty badly i remain a fan. Dawn of the Dead, 300, and Sucker Punch are all good-great in my book. even Watchmen was a respectable attempt at a very difficult adaptation.

Money doesn't mean anything, if you are a good director you are a good director and can effectively tell a story no matter what you get paid for or what amount you are working with. Now with that said Snyder's ability as a director varies from what script he is working with, what actors he's working with, and who's overseeing him. Either direction, he's got a taste for the visual. If he's working with a solid script he can deliver, if he's working with something that isn't, well at least it might look interesting. |

Two words: No way. Now Bay's not one who's going to be regarded as high as Kurosawa or Lean in the long run but if given the right motivation and a tight script he can deliver a solid film - The Rock is of the few Die Hard imitators that arguably stands toe to toe with it and last year's 13 Hours definitely showed that he can tell a straight serious story without going for popcorn fare. |

They walk through every scene frowning, brooding, grimacing, and snarling. These films completely ignore everything that made Superman and Batman likeable characters. Also, if these "fresh" new takes on both characters is SO good... how come WB is backing out of it as quickly as they can with promises of making both more like their classic versions? |
