My friend was talking to me about it the other week. Very surprising, as I didn't think she would want to return after "Resurrection". He was telling me that this film was going to follow the original two films. Anyhow it would have been interesting to see how they would've explain things if it followed "Resurrection". Just imagine the groans if it was all just a dream.

I love HALLOWEEN, and even enjoy HALLOWEEN II, but I feel like the HALLOWEEN franchise has run its course. I think Friday the 13th had the right idea with changing out casts every film. By making Michael only attack family and friends of family, it limits the scope of the films. It also undermines the original ending of "he could be anywhere; he could be coming after you now."
I'm just tired of Michael going after yet another family member. They need to break away from the Myers blood.

There's no question the sister angle did limit how far the latter films could go with the concept. So yeah while the original was simple, it didn't have those boundaries which made that boogeyman vibe work.
I wouldn't lose any sleep either if the series had been put to bed, but still there must be something there for the production to attract Curtis. Well, I hope so.

I loved Halloween 1-6, the other two were junk. I know I'm a minority but I really liked the cult storyline. I think they should make it as a tv series at some point. Maybe set it across thirty years starting in 1978.

At first this was meant to be a sequel to II, and from what I'm hearing it could now be a sequel to the original. If either of these are the case her death in Resurrection need not be explained as it never happened. But to answer the question I guess I would go the cliche route and make it dream. Not the most original I know, but I can't really think of any other way to do it. She was just wounded and didn't die perhaps?

So Curtis is returning as Laurie Strode and this movie will only acknowledge and follow the first two films? That sounds fine but didn't they do the exact same thing twenty years ago with H20? So I guess this is basically H40 then.

So I guess this is basically H40 then. Yeah, it doesn't make sense to abandon the H20 continuity. The film is well-regarded among fans. So, if Curtis is returning, the only thing to do is to place the new film after H20.
