I find it interesting that there exists people who can objectively observe that they really don't care if there's a female Pope or not because they're not Catholic, and therefore that decision doesn't affect them, their lives, their families, etc.... Yet this same logic doesn't translate to people who are heterosexual Catholics who want to ban gay marriage, even though that decision doesn't affect them, their lives, their families, etc.... I wonder why, within society, there can exist such a discrepancy in human affairs. Why?
It is literally the most Catholic thing ever.
I find it interesting that people can pretend Catholicism doesn't exist while determine if Catholicism should have a female Pope.

But as you say it...not caring about a female Pope is not the same as actively attempting to deny gay marriage. There is no hypocrisy there.

As a non believer, I'm rather indifferent. Maybe if the next pope was a llama or something I'd be vaguely interested.

Futurama envisions a crocodile Pope. Probably still a male, though.

An anthropomorphic reptile can still be corrupt though. Can a llama be consumed by greed and power? I don't think so, easily the best choice for pope.

Unless you are Catholic it's actually not your business, any more than it's my business who the leader of Finland is.

"If any of you happen to see an injustice, you are no longer a spectator, you are a participant and you have an obligation to do something." - June Callwood. I'm calling out the Catholic churches discrimination of women.. Does that make me a hero? ..maybe.

Try to make your self-loving lies believable, man.

Do YOU think a female Pope would be 'crazy talk'? Do YOU think there could be a female Bishop? If not, why? You want to be part of a misogynistic church, that's fine. Just have the guts to say 'I believe God thinks men are more important than women'. I don't think God favors men over women, so I think it's a bunch of horseshit that a woman can't be a Bishop or the Pope.

There is nothing stopping people from making new Catholic sects . Roman Catholicism is not the only Catholic school of Christianity. As for the Roman catholic organization, it is they who have to decide whether there should be female popes or not.

When I look it up I get stuff like this: "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." 1 Timothy 2:11-12 I guess there is simply no good logical reason.

Why do you and he consider that you are entitled to make rules for a Christian church? May I make rules for atheists?

Sammy didn't specify that he meant Catholicism. Why do you and he consider that you are entitled to make rules for a Christian church? May I make rules for atheists? As I posted, it was implicit that he was talking about Catholicism, yet you threw an unmerited insult at him. You were the one that was wrong, you even posted as if it was only in the past that New Zealand had a bishop. Either you sprung a mental leak or you attempted to bend the discussion outside of Catholicism without stating you were doing so. Where did I state anything about making rules for a Christian church? Oh yeah, I didn't. Thanks for again making things up about me. What is that about making rules for atheists and why make this in contrast to making rules for a Christian church?
