It's WORSE. 4.8/10 is generous...TOO GENEROUS. 1.8/10 or at most 2.8/10 is more like it. In fact 0.8/10 would be close to right.

'The Orville' while NOT a GREAT show, but decent to good IS way better than 'Discovery'.

He reminds me of Tim Daly in this role (who reminds me of Eric Close; even though Tim has brown eyes and Eric has blue). Perhaps one of them instead of Seth?? Although, I don't have a problem with Seth that you do.

ST is finally back where it belongs. And I liked it: 7/10.
The pilot episodes showed impressive production values and solid acting. All has been redesigned, especially the Klingons seem like a new race, but one can get used to that like with the TOS to film re-disigns of before. Allegedly the coming episodes are even better.
Star Trek fans are notoriously whiny manbabies with anger issues, would not be surprised if the manage to destroy this regardless.

I have to obey my master. I'm glad it's is back where is belogs (TV) after JJ Dreck. And I'm eager to watch were it's boldly going (or not).
I thought this was a decent pilot considering all the production troubles paired with the fan shitstorms the show had pre-launch. I expected a desaster, but am siding with the professional critics here and now (for now).
For me this is more Rogue One than TFA really - it's flawed but has some ideas and genuine merit. A kind of interesting anti-hero protagonist, anatgonistst that are more than cardboards and rooted in international politics, and some movie-like production values (e.g. the desert landscape and sky was leagues ahead of what recent Star Wars could muster).
Never judge a book by it's title, or a show by it's pilot. This show may well go into darkness, shit, mediocrity or excellence. I will tell you when I have seen the whole seasonal product.

I just already hate the protagonist, here. I don't think she's right for Trek. I also can't stand the disregard for canon. Surely they could have done the Klingon War without giving Spock an unbeknownst to us/him half sister. Plus the holograms. And the style(dark, serious, techie! - lighting), and the camera angles, and the way everyone talks. I'll give it a chance when it's on one of the streaming services I pay for already. I wont pirate it.
I actually do feel a little bad for not supporting Enterprise, but I know my viewership alone wouldn't have saved it.

Ten years before TOS...idiots. The problem of Enterprise was that it had no freedom in regard of the written history. Where is the thrill in exploring new worlds when the entire map is already discovered?! Hence, they came up with stuff like the temporale war, alternative timelines, the Xindi, the lizard Nazis in WWII...all this awful crap. You can re-tell history, like HBO did with Rome, but again: it was based on actual history, not a skeleton of some names and planets without any proper background story to it. Star Trek was never that rich and detailed like Game of Thrones, and thus it provided far less less to work with in this regard. They should have gone for a series in the future, less over-loaded with new super-enemies but as some sort of Games of Thrones and or House of Cards...more exploring the political, sociologically and ecenomically narrative levels.
Hence, I go for "The Expanse".

It's worse. The first two episodes sucked balls, and the latest one made it worse.

it's okay so far, nothing special and for me, it will come down to the actual storyline, if it's just a generic and predictable one, then it will struggle, so i am hoping for something a bit different or at least with some kind of freshness to it
I do think there is the hardcore ST fans who will look down on this purely because it's not what they think ST should be, added to them the people who flat out will hate anything ST related and you will struggle to find a reliable rating for the show, so best to just judge for yourself, rather than listen to people bashing it, because you just can't tell if it's a genuine opinion or just someone trying to look "cool" or just your plain old trolls
I am up to episode 4 atm and i am hoping it continues to improve and doesn't just rely on the visuals and effects

The first couple of episodes were a bit generic lens flare nu-trek fodder but I like the direction the show's subsequently taken.
Having said that, that's because having watched the first couple of episodes it became 100% clear that this show had 0% interest in following canon whatsoever. If you can take that onboard and just view this like the Battlestar reboot then you'll find this a worthwhile watch. If however you've watched the first couple of episodes as a big DS9 fan say, and are still watching this, foaming at the mouth in indignation , then you're basically wasting your time...
