By all means my favourite western animation as well.(Attack on Titan being my favorite non western animation).
It had just the right amount of depth ,complexity and comic book faithfulness. Yet it still manages to remain kid friendly.
I can name a few others that might come close like Spectacular Spiderman, 90's Spiderman, X Men the animated series and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
