I'm kind of ambivalent about these two in general, but I'm not particularly thrilled with them coming together this way, when it only serves to retroactively justify Brady's paranoia; which up until now has been completely unfounded.

I always liked EM's Brady with Nicole and GV's Eric with Nicole so I feel a bit torn on who I'd rather see Nicole with of these two guys - IMO both her true loves (not Daniel!!!).
But I really can't stand what this show keeps doing with Brady over and over and over and over again. Brady and Nicole falling in love (again) this time was stupid and contrived, but why is Brady always made to be the chump? He's so incredibly stupid about women. And all the writers are doing right now is, as you said, justifying Brady's paranoia for no bloody good reason.
All I keep thinking is that AZ said fans will be happy with the way Nicole leaves the show. This is not a happy way - screwing over Brady to confess her "true" feelings for Eric? This is ridiculous. She's just going to leave town with Holly and have Brady and Eric feuding? I can't see how else she can leave now.
I really can't stand what they have done to Nicole's character either. I kept thinking Nicole's profession of love/want/need to Eric was a dream...

I was surprised how quickly they resolved it today, with Nicole coming clean. I was expecting it turn out to be a dream for a while, until it got later into the episode - not that they haven't done that, come to think of it. It still felt hard for that to land as anything significant, when it's pretty much treated as this forgone conclusion come to fruition, with Brady's paranoia proved correct. It just feels like everyone is wrong, including Brady.
I have a sneaking suspicion that Brady will try to use the truth of Nicole killing Deimos against Nicole somehow; either forcing her to forsake Eric, or rat her out, out of spite. I could also see Victor throwing Nicole under the bus to get out from under Bonnie's hooks; since a fall guy for Deimos' murder means she has squat.

I feel like Deimos' murder has to come in to play somehow but I can't stop thinking about how AZ said that fans will be happy with the way Nicole leaves the show and that it's a nice exit for the character. To me that doesn't mean she gets stuck with the murder - to me it means she leaves town for a happy life with Holly. Maybe stupid Daniel comes back from the deal and whisks her away

I was going to say, I have wondered if they would air out the fact that she killed Deimos, only to have a trial exonerate her; for diminished capacity, or whatever reason they might have. I don't think there's enough time left with AZ on screen for a trial, though a judge simply dismissing the case on the grounds that she had been drugged would be a simple enough, if albeit anticlimactic resolution to that particular thread.
