I don't see any reference to the MCU as compared to DC, but I agree with him 100%. The obsession with the Tomato meter and opening weekend box office has overtaken legitimate film criticism as the language of the industry, and that's just sad. In a way it was inevitable, as the technology of our culture has sped up how we consume and evaluate every aspect of our lives. Art deserves better than to be chewed up and spit out with no thought behind the processes behind its creation or interpretation.

People these days like their movies to neatly fit in little boxes. They don't judge things on their own merits, but rather judge them based on their preconceived notions of what something "should" be.

But you're the King of doing that. That's why you only like stupid Marvel movies.

Things were fine between us until you insulted the fandom, completely unprovoked. Its about time you took responsibility for single-handedly restarting all the fandom vs. fandom fighting.

DC gets criticized because it's put out some crap movies. C. Nolan managed to make excellent Batman movies that didn't "fit into Marvel's generic box", and audiences loved them. If DC wants to establish their own style, different is not enough. It still needs to be good.
... though, someone should tell the DC marketing department. The Last JL trailer was full of the sort of Marvel moments that DC fans snub their noses at. They ain't going for different. They're in full copy-cat mode.

But did they always do word searches?

More like he's criticizing the unimaginative insiders and the nitpicky reviewers.

He's right about rottentomatoes. But RT is just a place where reviews are all lined up, they don't make or influence the reviews at all.

Stop. Just stop. I do not care about Rotten Tomatoes. I have seen all of the MCU movies and all of the DCEU movies. The MCU just makes better movies. I cannot even see how this is debated. It is obvious. No MCU movie is worse than BvS or Suicide Squad. Not one. That has nothing to do with RT.
