SRIRAM RAGHAVAN is still hanging in there. but without much box office success.
but E NIWAS (love ke liye, shool), PRAWAL RAMAN (gayab, darna mana hain), SHIMIT AMIN (ab tak chappan), CHANDAN ARORA (main madhuri dixit banna chahtaa hoon), JIJY PHILIP (my wife's murder), MANISH GUPTA (darna zaroori hain), VIVEK SHAH (darna zaroori hain), ANTARA MALI (mr ya miss), VISHRAM SAWANT (d) etc havent done all that well.
remember when RGV's factory flooded the film industry with movies?

pimpinainteasy I wish Nisha Kothari was doing more Bollwood movies. She was really hot. I hope she comes back. Preferably in a horror/ b grade action movie.

yes, even she disappeared. ANTARA MALI's complete disappearance is baffling. she was reasonably talented.

Antara mali was really hot. Her figure with a slim waist was really attractive and she was a brilliant dancer too. I watched the movie road 3 times for her. I think Rgv is bankrupt right now after producing dozens of flop per year in past. Sarkar 3 isn't looking interesting either.

It's baffling that Shimit Amin hasn't made a film post CDI and Rocket Singh SOTY.

Even Jaideep Sahni (who wrote Company and Khosla Ka Ghosla and then moved to YRF) hasn't done anything in this decade apart from Shudh Desi Romance IIRC.

Could be. Although I've read somewhere that Shimit is finally starting a new film this year.

and more - VIVEK OBEROI, ABHISHEK BACHAN (worked in a number of RGV films in the 2000-2010 period), JIAH KHAN, AFTAB SHIVDASANI, MOHIT AHLAWAT. none of them did well.
URMILA was the one protege who had a great career.

IRFAN and NAWAZUDDIN are now doing the roles he used to do i guess.

FARDEEN KHAN was another regular in RGV films - JUNGLE, PYAR KE LIYE SAALA KUCH BHI KAREGA, BHOOT, PYAAR TUNE KYA KIYA. it was RGV who relaunched him after the disaster called PREM AAGAN.

This is what I was referring to as the 'good old days' of bollywood on imdb sometime back if some of you remember. That was talent. Where do we see that now?. I always looked forward eagerly to 'rgv's movies those days.
My only issue is he should have avoided making some films. Such examples 'darna zaroori ha, aag, mr ya miss and darwaza bandh rakho. But I think he got caught up in making big money and was only interested in profit rather than providing 'quality' films.

i thought DARNA ZAROORI HAIN was entertaining - ZAKIR HUSSAIN was really funny in one of the stories.
MR YA MISS - antara was very cute in it.

RGV gave Anurag Kashyap and Saurabh Shukhla their first big breaks as co-writers for Satya. They are doing quite well for themselves. Satya was Anurag's first script that broke through to the screens of Bollywood cinema. Shukha, meanwhile, was acting in TV serials and had a small role in Bandit Queen but nothing more.
And Manoj Bajpai's been doing quite well. Starring in critically acclaimed roles in Gangs of Wasseypur and Aligarh, and he's also mixed in enough commercial roles in stuff like Rajneeti that he doesn't have to worry about money.

KASHYAP has done very well. he has gone on to become world famous. missed his name completely. thanks for pointing it out.
