I thought the Wrestling board had disappeared but it's in the sub-board section now. That's a lively board. People love wrestling.

I could be wrong but I suspect these minor boards will die now. It's like the fine print in a contract - no-one looks for it.

I love posting my "201x Rock/Metal Album Releases" threads in the Rock forum. The activity level of my threads, and that forum, is a perfect match. I post updates about once a month. In the very early days of this site, I did first post those threads in Music General. But once Music General became active, my threads were quickly pushed out of sight and I asked the Admin to move them to the Rock forum.

I feel like I understand the Admin's position - clearing up the boards may make life easier and generate more conversation on the primary boards. Of course, once you log on and see something appears to be missing, you think "hey, where did it all go?" I sincerely hope the Wrestling board keeps active, or is moved back to the main section, because it's been a popular addition and wrestling is a constant all year round. Perhaps if the change doesn't work, Admin might change things back. But then again, on the old imdb the individual messageboards were tucked away. I have no real comparison to know if imdb2 is picking up momentum or losing steam. I just think it's a nice site for movie lovers and I hope it's here to stay.

Of course, once you log on and see something appears to be missing, you think "hey, where did it all go?" That's a good point. Perhaps the Admin should temporarily post a sticky announcement thread to all boards - notifying users of the recent structural changes. For example:

Of course, once you log on and see something appears to be missing, you think "hey, where did it all go?" The idea is to make things easier to find, not harder. The home page is always been (at least in my opinion) way too cluttered. There should not be 100 boards on the first page everyone sees when they come here. Instead, the home page should be more streamlined to include the major topics at a glance, with the subs under them. If someone was looking for a Music board, for example, they should be able to come here and see there is one right off the bat without having to sift through 99 other boards they are being blasted with the moment they walk in the door.

I think when I first posted I didn't see you could still click on mini-links on the main page too. It's all very nice and tidy now - I'm new to sub-boards but they seem like a good idea. Thanks for taking the time to reply.
