Maybe it's made for idiots like DC-Fan to get them to shut up about the 8 years later thing I think even if Marvel releases one he'll still nitpick it and call them incompetent.

Could this be prelude to a reboot?
Guys, I'm worried about the MCU's publication of their own continuity...

Well, MCU fucked up their continuity with "8 Years Later" so now they're in panic mode trying to come up with an explanation for the MASSIVE COTINUITY FUCK-UP.

It'll be loaded with retcons. The timeline is already fucked. The attempts that I've seen to "repair" it have been laughable.
Their best bet is to just say the Time Stone created a ripple effect in Doctor Strange.

Nah, he just wants you to do your word search instead of the "grounded" approach you've been taking by ignoring it.

It IS funny seeing detractors cling to it for dear life though. yeah I do not see why this is always highlighted so much as MCU seems full of this. For me one more jarring plot hole was the rainbow bridge debacle and the Thor-not-visiting-his-big-love-Jane when repaired, which contradicted everything we saw in the first movie. This was typically pseudo-resolved with a silly explanation and a bad joke: Jane slapping Thor in the face. Hahahaah, it's violent and funny. Bad writing only fanboys will buy.

I'm a Marvel fan and I'd hardly call it a minor flaw. It ruins the continuity of the universe, which is essential to the running narrative throughout the films. I'm not up at arms about it, I can accept is as a typo, an oversight, or whatever you want to call it and still enjoy the films. But again, it's a pretty significant error when a shared universe screws up its own timeline.

Continuity errors don't get any bigger than massive timeline fuck-ups. But you guys have to minimize it because admitting that Marvel majorly fucked itself in the butt would shatter all of your senses of self-worth (for whatever reason).

This is the mindset people should have. It's an error (a big one), but at the end of the days, they're just fun popcorn movies, so it'll all be okay.

Maybe it's made for idiots like DC-Fan to get them to shut up about the 8 years later thing I would be very careful with who you call an idiot wile throwing infinity stones in your glasshouse, baby. If DC-Fan is an idiot being right with this, what does this possibly make you? I personally do not care about this timeline messup, but if you guys go dimwitted, lying fanboys bullying and insulting other poster, let's play:
1. Homecoming starts off in the aftermath of the Chitauri invasion dated at 2012 (the year The Avengers was released).
2. The screen text then says "Eight Years Later": where we run through summary of the Captain America: Civil War brawl.
But how can that be eight (8) years later? Here's the timeline according to what is in Civil War: • 2008: Tony Stark reveals to the world that he is Iron Man. • 2012: The Chitauri invasion of New York. • 2016: Civil War: the Sokovia Accords are passed.
Thus, it should be only 4 years instead of 8 years later innit?
- Further evidence: If Homecoming was actually set eight years after the events of The Avengers, the film would take place in 2020. That directly contradicts Peter's entire arc in the film. Plus the Staten Island Ferry feature adverts for 2018's Stark Expo, which would be two years out of date then...
- Further evidence, the thief Aron Davis, ( Donald Glover) according to Spider-Man's AI suite was born in April 1984, and is 33 years old. That means Homecoming must be set in Fall 2017 (Homecoming dances are usually in the Fall term). So the timeline is even more messed up.
If we have resolved all this we can go to many other mess ups of the MCU timeline, eg the one in GotG , making J Gunn say "Yes, I know I made a mistake. I'll own up to my mistake because Guardians of the 'Galaxy 2' theoretically happens in 2014 which is before 'Infinity War'. And Stan Lee in the movie says, 'That time I was the Fed Ex guy,' which is what he is in 'Civil War'. I screwed up; I wasn't thinking."
I know the convenient explanation fanboys give for this: "A wizard did iz!" - lol, in this case they are actually dead serious, because maybe Dr Strange did mess up the timeline...?
But DC Fan is the idiot here...?

If you actually read that interview with Feige, then you'd have actually noticed that he said that the films don't necessarily take place in their release years. So the 8 years later thing makes more sense the more you realise what Feige is saying, but you probably didn't read the interview with Feige, so you probably don't know Jack Squat about the point I'm making. Still, it's amusing seeing you try to insult the intelligence of the MCU's fanbase.

Still, it's amusing seeing you try to insult the intelligence of the MCU's fanbase. ah ah, careful, don't deflect - fanbase? I was making fun of YOU or your ilk insulting people as idiots without having proper arguments yourself - other MCU fans chose an more sophisticated approach. I actually read the article - but sorry , I'm just not a gullible person believing in vague pseudo-explanations and vapid appeals to authority that have no substance. Or maybe you can outline how that should work given the facts set out in the MCU movies mentioned above? If Marvel pull another retcon timeline stunt thereby somehow shifting the timelines when the films are supposed to play, it will create even more plot holes with the existing dialogue and set up. Some boys gonna have so much fun disintegrating that MCU house of cards if that happens. For now you are blatantly wrong. But let's wait for the OFFICIAL MCU timeline to be published, and let us firmly review it with the necessary due diligence then....
