... It's a lot less complicated that Thor's or Cap's or Wonder Woman, etc. is it? Yup.

Keaton's Bat suit, specifically the one in Returns. Yeah that's a good one. That, Iron Man's suit, Batman's armoured suit, the Raimi Spider-man costume, Captain America's costume from Age of Ultron or Civil War and Doctor Strange' costume.

Same here! Is that the Batman costume from Batman vs Superman on the left and the Batman costume from Justice League on the right? That's an improvement if so.

Batman DCEU, Superman DCEU (I miss the bulge), Wonder Woman movie outfit was great, Captain America suit in Civil War, Some of the Iron Man suit upgrades were pretty good looking.
I wish the X-Men movies had better outfits, the black leather is boring.

Watchmen really grew on me- to the point where it has become one of my favorite comic movies... But man, Malin Ackerman is BAD in there! Worst acting ever!

But speaking of the costumes of Watchmen... I did really enjoy seeing Rorshack's mask come to life on screen!

Basically, which suit/costume is the best on screen translation of a comic book uni. All aspects considered: design, practicality, faithfulness, ECT. Any and all movies included, MCU, DCEU, TDK, X Men, Raimi Spidey trilogy, whatever... I say a three way tie between Spider-Man's suit in SM2, Cap's suit in CW, and Iron Man's suit in... uh, really any movie, they're always great. (Runner up goes to Hulk's pants in AoU) WHAT SAY YOU? Captain America - stealth uniform.

Let's see: Reeves Superman Rorshack Rami Spider-Man Captain America Winter Soldier Iron Man Hit Girl Batman BvS Deadpool Vision Dr Strange Sad that Fox has mishandled X-men so bad they can't even get near a list like this. At least WB finally allowed Batman to have a costume that sorta looks like the comic version instead of an Iron Man wannabe. He's got one of the most iconic costumes ever and they were afraid to use it. The Spider-Man costume has consistently been the best represented. From 2002 to now. It's also one of the easiest ones to do. It's a lot less complicated that Thor's or Cap's or Wonder Woman, etc. I think it's the opposite. I think the Spidey costume held back him getting a movie for years. There was no way to make it look good until Rami did it. Wonder Woman looked fine in the 70s...Spidey did not. It was really the success of the Spidey costume that changed the genre. Up to that point it was just Superman who got his costume on screen. Batman and X-men movies changed the costumes and avoided any color other than black for the most part. But speaking of the costumes of Watchmen... I did really enjoy seeing Rorshack's mask come to life on screen! Same here. That costume was awesome.

It worked in the 70's the same way Spiderman's TV series costume worked in the 70's (or was it the 80's?). The only main change they did to Raimi's Spiderman was change the texture of the suit. The overall design remained mostly the same. That should give you an idea of how easy it was to bring the actual costume into a big modern blockbuster. For costumes like Thor and WW, you can't just change the texture and maintain the overall design, not if you wanted to be taken seriously in this modern era. So they had to do some redesigning. And that makes it more complicated.

And that makes it more complicated. I think it's difficult to make the case that WW's 70s costume didn't work when it was part of a successful TV show. I take it you didn't like it, but it objectively worked because the audience had no problem with it. Spidey on the other hand failed as a TV show and the costume was one of the reasons why. He just looked horrible. That "texture of the suit" is not a minor detail. Without that, it looks like this: It continued just like that until the Rami films figured out how to do it right. If it was easy, they would have gotten it right in the 70s like they did with Superman.
