If these forums have taught us anything, it's that if Marvel fans cry hard enough about something, they'll eventually get what they want (lookin' at you, mods). So my advice to the Marvel fans Community is to keep crying about your lack of Oscar wins. The Academy will eventually toss a pity Oscar your way. Looks like someone's angry that he can't just post whatever he wants anymore.

His argument isn't a failure because the OP thread specifically asked if MCU will ever win an Oscar. It never mentions anything about being nominated for one. Yeah, Hitch was nominated, but he never won. So as usual, and always, both you and Kool-Aid are wrong. Don't reply to him. Yes, him. I think its obvious at this point that Tristan and DC-Fan are the same person. And dakprescottfan.

Thanks! Please don't make my life harder than it needs to be ok? I did edit his post. I also had to edit yours as well for calling people "Marveltards", which I asked you not to do just yesterday. See you provoked him by calling him a "Marveltard" which then caused him to get angry at you and insult you. None of this needed to happen at all.

Gosh, raptor you and that seahawsrawk00 your reputations as intellectual nudists and board idiots are totally unwarranted....wait, with that sort of intellect, are you the same guy too...?

You're the butthurt one who has his panties in an uproar over the fact that Marvel will never even be invited to the Oscars.

Come on, keep it calm. Getting angry just makes them think their arguments mean anything. Especially since they're not actually making any arguments. They're just shouting at me despite the fact I can't see their replies and will never care Not to mention Tristan's confession that he only exists to "torment the raptor."Tristan has an odd obsession with me, like he needs my attention to live. no, you are just a creepy weirdo with sociopathic tendencies and no balls when facing grown ups. This is about saving the ponies from you.

Because Warner Bros specifically campaigned hard for it for the Oscars, not for Best Actor, but Best Picture and Best Director. When they didn't get either, Ledger died a short while after and then the film was added to the shortlist for Best Supporting Actor. But after he died, Warner Bros was very cautious about campaigning a dead guy for an award and almost stopped all of it while all the other studios continue to campaign for their choices, and Ledger still won. He had a huge amount of sympathy votes behind him when he died. You can deny it all you want, I'm not saying it wasn't an Oscar-worthy performance, but more then half of those votes were sympathy votes

The last several posts were just insults so they were all deleted up until the last actual, sorta, on topic response.
So continue on from that. This is supposed be a discussion on Marvel and winning an award, there doesn't need to be all the mud slinging.

You might as well lock this thread because it really isn't about the MCU winning an Oscar. It's just DC fans making fun of the fact that they haven't won one.

As long as people can try and keep it about Marvel possibly winning an Oscar and what it could be the it shouldn't be a problem.
Most of the posts here are on topic and are an interesting read.

Does it matter?
What does an award prove? ...What has an award ever proved? There is a long list of things that didn't win awards that people claim were "snubbed". And there is an equally long list of things that won awards that people claim was "undeserved".
Since when have people ever agreed with awards? It's an annual event...they give out awards for art....and people complain that they got it wrong. Happens every time.
So anytime someone claims an award proves something, just show them a list of winners. The second they disagree with a winner that disproves their claim.
What an enormous waste of time awards are. Pretty sure it was just invented to give artists an excuse to get together, give each other the praise they ache for, and get drunk.

I don't know the ins and outs of moderating (naturally), but--if I may make a suggestion--I think the burden of proof should rest on the shoulders of the people who are claiming that a thread should shut down. Just because everyone gets offended from time to time (I certainly have taken offense over some posts here, but eventually I get over them--Internet, y'know?), but that doesn't mean that they should be deleted or anything else. Note that I'm not asking for a strict burden--"beyond a reasonable doubt"--but merely what they use in civil trials, "by a preponderance of the evidence." I think that would be fairer to everyone.
