I know Wonder Woman had a higher domestic BO, but since I'm not American (as are majority of audiences) I care more about world wide BO, since this is a more widely used measuring stick.
Just find it hilarious how DC fanatics kept pointing out that Spiderman wasn't making any money and praising how Wonder Woman was totally crushing it and was the best movie ever... etc. etc.

That's how the DCEU fans reacted when Homecoming became the biggest grossing CBM of 2017

That's how the DCEU fans reacted when Homecoming became the biggest grossing CBM of 2017 I don't think so. They got a reasonably good movie with Wonder Woman. No doubt they wil find that the more important thing after a few movies that were not so good. DC knows they are not on Marvel level when it comes to movies. But what isnt so may come.

Fair enough, a good movie will go a long way to successful BO, hopefully JL is more of the same.

And let's not forget that Spider-man Homecoming was a very good film. The best Spidey movie in my eyes and together with WW and GotG2 a shared second behind Logan for best CM of the year.

old news, Skaathar, old news. You seem in some state of intellectual hibernation or coping badly. You are diligently building a little straw man again you can easily defeat. Maybe there are other [artistic] factors too to weigh in here to get you off your bandwagon fallacy? And does it really surprise you that a film featuring the all time top-3 superhero, Spiderman, heavily promoted along with the currently most popular movie superhero RDJ-Iron Man and other MCU-stars, in their long anticipated reunion in the currently most popular franchise, the MCU, made some millions more worldwide than a SOLO ORIGIN story of a FEMALE superhero, who never had a movie before...? Especially as Spidey is blatantly pandering at the lucrative children market and Homecoming as a high school film all the more so, and WW was evidently not...? I hope I could put something in perspective for you regarding what's being "hilarious" here. Sorry if I pissed on your putting-lipstick-on-the-pig parade.

However a number of DC fans were convinced it was going to be, or actually was a flop. Though it should also be acknowledged that Wonder Woman is probably in the 5 most famous and recognisable superheroes of all time, and many, on the basis of her appearance in BvS were looking forward to he film I personally never felt it was pandering to a children's market. The high school element made me feel a little nostalgic for the John Hughes films I loved growing up, but I never felt I was watching a kids film, rather a film that managed to be one of the closest so far to the actual Spider-Man comics.

That's a good point. WW had a big advantage there. She is one of the "trinity" in DC and one of the world's most well known characters so she is in the conversation with Spidey. This was her very first film so the demand was pent up. Contrast that to Spidey who was starring in his 6th movie in 15 years...and the 2nd reboot in 5 years. There really isn't a huge demand for a Spidey movie and yet it outgrossed WW anyway.

I was familiar with her existance but didnt really know anything about the character. And Im quite the nerd. Outside of the US she wasnt that famous. There hadnt been any major outing beside comic books for at least 35 years. Thats two generations that barely knew her.

They both did great at the Box Office.
But let's make sure to make it into a fan war because why not!

What's with all the "Trinity" and "icon" talk about Wonder Woman? Do they know she is a B-list character?

No doubt they wil find that the more important thing after a few movies that were not so good. DC knows they are not on Marvel level when it comes to movies. But what isnt so may come. Having a reasonably good movie isn't enough for DC fans. They dislike that the competition succeeds at all, even if DC has success too.
