I thought it had some great horror moments.

It did! It knew how to scare it's audience and time has been a teller and keeper with this one. It's not quite the classic the original is, but it is a minor classic with a cult following. The visuals are strong and scary, and much of the success is owed to actor Julian Beck as Rev Kane. And Screaming Mad George's practical fx.

I never remember which sequel had it...but when CarolAnne is lifted into the air by an evil mirror version of herself I nearly shit my pants as a kid. If that's 2 then I dig it.

I think that's 3, in the high rise apartment building. There was a lot of spooky fun with mirrors in that movie. I thought 2 was the worst out of the three movies. Too slow and dull. I'm not a huge fan of the first, either. 3 might not be the best in many people's opinions, but it's the one I found most entertaining.

Its a good movie. Not as great as the first one, but a masterpiece compared to the third.

And Screaming Mad George's practical fx. The imagery in this one, would have given many viewers nightmares. The vomit\worm creature, is still a creepy and repulsive creation. Did Screaming Mad George do the practical fx for Society-89'?
Yep. Fantastic work too. They helped out on a couple of Brian Yuzna films.

It had its moments. Kane is creepy as hell.

Didn't think much of it to be honest.

Kind of OK. Has good points, has bad points. On balance I like it.

this film is an extension of the first. i think it was a necessary sequel. the first one never really stopped the poltergeist. they got the kid back and the lady said this house is clean. but she was proven wrong 15 minutes later. and then the house imploded. the ghosts were never stopped. they end the problem in the second one after the ghosts follow them to their next home. i used to think the kids performances in this one weren't as good, but as i watched it as an adult i think carol anne was very good. her "they're back" delivery was great. the native american and reverend kane were highlights of the film. the tequila monster fx were great. the shot of the ghosts coming up the lawn. iconic stuff. the braces scene was a little cheesy but still very memorable to all kids with braces. they pulled off a miracle with this one i think.
