N, Star Trek has changed dramatically since TOS. It hasn't , if anything it's been cyclical. They try to change it and it goes back after a little while. Yes, it has. Star Trek has changed a lot since TOS.

Nope, they changed the casts but the basic premise has stayed the same. Nope, Star Trek has changed a lot since TOS. The NuTrek movies brought up back to the old cast, the TV shows are back to the TOS era...and even then the basic premise of Trek never changed in any of the other series. The aesthetics changed, the casts changed but the basics of Trek and its hope for a better tomorrow never changed.

In addition to the cast changes, the format of the shows changed. On TOS, the Captain routinely went on Away missions, the 1st Officer was also the Science Officer, there was no ship's counselor, no Captain's Ready Room, no Holodeck, and Klingons were the enemy. On TNG and Voyager, the Captain normally doesn't go on Away missions, the 1st Office is actually an XO and doesn't double as a Science Officer. TNG also had a ship's counselor, a Captain's Ready Room, a Holodeck, and a Klingon officer serving in Starfleet.
Also, the primary setting of TOS, TNG, Voyager, and Enterprise were starships, but the primary setting of DS9 wasn't a starship. The primary setting of DS9 was a space station and the lead character didn't start the series as a Captain but only as a Commander.

So wrong. The X-Men continuity relies on stories which try to cater to the star appeal of the actors as they are at the time of production. Their characters will have screen time as determined by the actors’ popularity.
