A brush of death? Yeah, a few times over the years.
Most recently, I was on my way to Walmart and had to make a right turn. All of a sudden, this cyclist that's traveling a million miles an hour on her bike just came out of nowhere. I almost hit her rolling up to the red light.
Unfortunately, I couldn't see because there was a huge dump truck obstructing my view in the other lane. I did proceed with caution, but my goodness, I wish they would have used the crosswalk to, you know, WALK! I don't think you're supposed to shoot down it like she did. Even the lady should have exercised simple bike safety.
I'm not saying I hate cyclists but, I certainly wouldn't toy around with everybody driving at least two tons of steel on the road. It's an accident waiting to happen.
Now I'm paranoid every time I approach that intersection. I even cut through the gas station on occasion. I know you're not supposed to do that. The area is known for people riding around on their bikes since there's a public park right down the street from it.
