Harry Potter had the disadvantage of being carried by three kids who had little-to-none acting experience and weren't exactly talented amateurs (in my opinion - they got much better as they aged). The adults were mostly fantastic. And yeah, the direction in Fantastic Beasts is superior. Fantastic Beasts may end up being the better series in terms of quality, but Harry Potter will probably reign supreme in terms of legacy (not quite the word I was looking for, but eh). And regardless of how it's received, you know they're just gonna remake HP 1-7(/8) as soon as these are finished.

And I mean in scale and scope.
There wasn't a moment in all of Harry Potter as well executed in terms of emotion as Jacob losing his memories in the rain. If that is what this series will bring, along with some pending epic showdown between Grindelwald and Dumbledore, then I think this series will be vastly superior in the end. I heard the other day that there's going to be 5 of these movies. Wow, if this is true.
