What the hell were they thinking? They should expect viewers to go down Friday night because most will probably be seeing JL first. As pumped as I am for wanting to binge watch the Punisher, me and my brother already have plans to see JL on that Friday night. That's poor marketing strategy Marvel's part. Personally, I still think they should release it Nov 10 because it's the Marine Corps Birthday, which Frank Castle is, and the following day is Veteran's Day. That could actually mean a lot to all the current active duty men and women today and even former, especially those in the Marines.

Hmm, that would have been cooler actually.

I do not think it matters much. People will still be able to binge over the weekend. It was actually originally supposed to come out tomorrow, but they pushed it back because of the Vegas shooting.

It wouldn't make any difference to me, I can go see a 2 hour movie and then come back and watch Punisher.

It doesn't bother me. I'll go see Justice league and then go home and watch Punisher over the weekend. It's a win-win for me!

It could be very smart, JL is likely to be the biggest opening for any CBM this year which means it's going to generate the biggest awareness to the genre and discussion for any given weekend, this heightened awareness and discussion presumably is a great way/time to drop Punisher and tap into the more transient of CBM/TV fans.
Keep in mind the whole marine birthday/veterans day thing sounds cool but could get backlash very easily given how sensitive some people are these days, plus that's very much an American and there for isolated thing, as I can say I neither know nor care about American holidays because they don't effect me, Punisher & JL are world wide so you want to do some stunt release to get eyeballs you do it in the most wide a way possible.

Well, I know what I'll be doing that night instead of going to see Snyder's latest failure.

Yeah, it's bad. The tracking/roto work still needs refinements. He's a little to jerky in some instances. I don't know why any cinematic iteration would include this character without a heavy redesign. What looks okay in the comic books for Cyborg comes of as transformers-level bad on the big screen. Future iterations of the character are likely to improve on the situation but, right now, this is worse than cap's "modern" suit in Avengers.

Nah he lloks worse, like a bad CGI character with an actors face poorly cut and pasted onto it in parts, I mean the facial CGI I can get being off because it's obviously a difficult thing to try and blend the pure CGI parts to the rea. flesh parts, but why does the entire body look so bad also?
They really should have gone the TV route and had the Cyborg part be hidden by skin, where they could save so much on CGI and just reveal the full CGI Cyborg look near the end and there by spend more time and money refining the look for a few minutes worth of screen time, instead of stretching across the whole movie.
Or you know don't use fucking Cyborg, why the hell didn't they use Martian Manhunter, atleast that character you can do normally without effects or make up, most of the rest just in make up and CGI him for specific moments unlike bloody Cyborg, plus Cyborg will never be a JL person in my eyes, he's a Titan god dammit.

And its not like they'd have to give up on having a black cast member. Martian Manhunt is pretty much always played by a black guy.

As pumped as I am for wanting to binge watch the Punisher, me and my brother already have plans to see JL on that Friday night. That's poor marketing strategy Marvel's part. That could actually mean a lot to all the current active duty men and women today and even former, especially those in the Marines. So you cant binge watch Punisher the day after?
Also, the Punisher is an insane, violent, vigilante/criminal. Why would you want to associate that in any way shape or form with the good work that the Marines do for our country? He's a fun character to watch on a TV show, but he's no role model in any way; no one to look up to.
I don't think you really thought this through.

Agreed. I was going to post the same thing, but then he would've threw a hissy fit and whined and complained to the Admin to ban me for writing that. He's already tried to get me banned previously and was unsuccessful.

It's not so much being a role model or anything like that, it's just acknowledging that yeah, he's a Marine, and once a Marine, always one, and to honor that, it'd be a great idea to release it on the Marine Corps birthday. But also, a big part of the Punisher is the plight of returning service men and women, which they actually took very seriously when they developed the show. And Veteran Day is the next day as well, and it'd be honoring all veterans because believe it or not, the Punisher character is held in high regard within military units today, especially Marine Corps units. Chris Kyle's unit was one of the first to adopt the Punisher logo. So yeah, releasing it on the Marine Corps birthday and Veterans Day would be a huge thank you towards every service men and women and their families for this service.

Ok I believe you, but I think that's too bad, since the Punisher is just a fucking nut. Like I said, he's a fun character for escapism, but when you stop to think about it he's actually an insane criminal himself. Just because he limits his killing to other criminals doesn't make him less of a criminal or a nut.
As a matter of fact, the very best stories of the Punisher are always that ones that deal with how thin the line is between his morality and his insanity. The best writers have mined that element in this character to powerful effect; Garth Ennis for one.
He no longer honors the code of being a Marine which is to serve and protect this great country of ours. And if they accept him just because he was once a Marine then I don't think that says much about them. In fact it says that they accept violence and killing over honor and righteousness. I think they can do better. Captain America for instance. Or is he too boring?
The Punisher is fun as a fictional character, but he's no role model or anything to aspire to.
