Who do you think delivered the greatest on-screen interpretation of a real-life politician?
Thanks.

I was mesmerised throughout 'Lincoln' (2012). For me, it would be Sean Penn's Oscar-winning performance as Harvey Milk in Gus Van Sant's controversial biopic 'Milk' (2012). I never saw such humanity in a politician before then.

I'd like to think about it until after I have seen Woody Harrelson in LBJ. Born in Midland, Texas, with a natural Texas drawl, he may fit this role quite well.
Somehow, I think this may be Woody Harrelson's year to take home the Big One.
I have already been very impressed with his performance in The Glass Castle. Here, he seems to have broken out of his usual character mode and started to dominate the character more.

Alexander Knox as Wilson 1944, panned by nearly anyone on this earth, but I thought it was an interesting introduction to an unknown President of USA. They even built a replica of the White House on their back lot.

I like it, even if it is a sanitized version of this racist president.

Parker Sawyers as Barack Obama in Southside with You. The resemblance and mannerisms are startling.

Josh Brolin as George W. Bush in W.If Hitler is considered a politician Bruno Ganz in Downfall. I think Hitler very much was a politician (unfortunately a very successful one). I would have to agree. Ganz completely captured Hitler's "presence." On the other end of the spectrum, I always thought Redford did a bang up job in the "Candidate."
