New 'Doctor Who' casting is announced and it looks like total squad goalsThirteenth Doctor Jodie Whittaker with her new human companions.
Back in the old days of Doctor Who the Doctor only needed one companion to sprain their ankle and cry for help. Now it looks like she'll have three whole earthlings to ferry around time and space. The BBC has announced that Bradley Walsh, Tosin Cole, and Mandip Gill will be joining the cast as characters Graham, Ryan, and Yasmin. The series head writer and executive producer Chris Chibnall is "shaking things up," according to the BBC, by giving the Doctor a whole team of companions, rather than just the usual one or two. "The new Doctor is going to need new friends," said Chibnall. "We’re thrilled to welcome Mandip, Tosin, and Bradley to the Doctor Who family. They’re three of Britain’s brightest talents and we can’t wait to see them dive into brand new adventures with Jodie’s Doctor." Bradley Walsh, former Coronation Street actor and host of the game-show The Chase, certainly seems excited to work with the thirteenth Doctor, as he's been following the programme since the very beginning. “I remember watching William Hartnell as the first Doctor," said Walsh. "Black and white made it very scary for a youngster like myself. I was petrified but even though I’d watch most of it from behind the sofa through my fingers, I became a fan. I then queued up for ages to get into the Carlton picture house in Watford to watch the great Peter Cushing appear as the Doctor in a full length feature film made in glorious colour. Am I thrilled to be part of this whole ground breaking new dawn for the Doctor?? Oh yes!” As well as the new casting it was also revealed that the new season will comprise of 10 fifty minute episodes, except for the launch which will be a feature-length hour. Let's all hope there's plenty of room in the TARDIS for all those humans! Oh wait... New 'Doctor Who' casting is announcedI kind of feel 3 companions are one to many. But lets hope they prove me wrong

This show has become SJW pandering trash Ah-HA! A white male right-winger upset that women and people of color and foreign background are being cast in TV shows and films instead of white people of the male persuasion. I had guessed as much and feel good about being confirmed. Boy, do I love beautiful people of all hues. You know, what you call "trash"! Give me more and a lot less of conservatism.

Its because Doctor Who is Anti-cats they are cat hating scums. So we're looking at another incarnation of K-9 at best.

I liked Brannigan from the episode ‘Gridlock’ (probably the fact that the actor who portrayed him also played Dougal in Father Ted had something to do with it). I’d guessed it was him under all that make-up, as his voice/the way he talked was very familiar, but I never got around to confirming it until much later on. I also thought this artwork of the eleven Doctors as cats was rather nifty.

I see you Moffat fanboys are still butthurt over the ratings plummeting. Unfortunately for you, Doctor who has always had women and minorities on the show (heck, the very first episode had two female companions and was directed by Waris Hussein), but they existed as actual compelling characters back then instead of blatant political statements, so viewers didn't care.
You fail to realize that insulting people and screaming "BIGOT!!" at them and accusing them of only wanting white males on the show won't get them to start watching again. But I guess you feel you have to pull the "bigotry" card out when you have no excuses for the show's crappy direction.

Yes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
As has been predicted by others, I am expecting high ratings for the first episode of series 11, then a stomach churning plummet.
Maybe a series 12, coz the Beeb doesn't want to admit to failure.
Then no series 13, but quiet, unannounced cancellation instead.
All it needs is someone with talent, genuine love for the original show, and no political agendas, to save it.
But I can't see anyone on the horizon. Certainly not Chibnall.

Back in the old days of Doctor Who the Doctor only needed one companion to sprain their ankle and cry for help... "Back in the old days" The Doctor rarely traveled with few than three companions. The very first Doctor had Susan, Ian, AND Barbara. Several of the following Doctors had at least two companions but Number 5 probably had the most at one time with Adric, Tegan, Nyssa, and Turlough all at one time.

two or three companions was normal for classic Who. even NuWho I think has sometimes had more than one - Amy and Rory for instance.
