Conan the Barbarian - One of the great film scores.
First Blood - Compared to the sequels, it seems completely foreign.
TRON - Really dig the primitive visual effects.
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - One of those titles always brought up when discussing superior sequels.
The King of Comedy - A pretty good display of uncomfortable comedy.
E.T.: The Extraterrestrial - Features one of the best child performances in movie history.
Blade Runner - That narration. Ugh.
Rocky III - The Italian Stallion Rises. There is no tomorrow! THERE IS NO TOMORROW!!
The Thing - John Carpenter's masterpiece. Released the same day as Blade Runner and suffered a similar fate with critics and audiences.
Poltergeist - Didn't Spielberg direct this movie because Tobe Hooper was into the cocaine?

"I got nowhere else to go!!!!!"
"That was my skull! I'm so wasted!!!!!"
"I'm keeping him."
"What's with this honey shit all of a sudden?"

Cat People - Never cared for this one. Found it dreary and dull. Schrader was not the right director for it.
Halloween III: Season of the Witch - Leonard Maltin gave this a bomb rating and called it "genuinely repellent". Oh come on, Lenny, it's not that bad!
An Officer And A Gentleman - Irresistible romance-drama. Gere and Winger are in fine form and Gossett deserved his Oscar win. Iconic ending.
Tootsie - The concept of someone donning some kind of disguise for whatever reason has been done many times since this winning comedy came out, and it's still the best of the bunch.
48 Hrs. - The forefather of the buddy-cop action genre. Slam bang, fast-paced hit made Eddie Murphy a star.

The Year of Living Dangerously - an outstanding performance by Linda Hunt and a stepping stone for the rise of Mel Gibson and Sigourney Weaver. Vangelis provides a poignant recurring theme for the abject poverty of Jakarta. The King of Comedy - one of the few movies I've seen where Jerry Lewis plays a serious role. One of Scorsese's best early works.
Gandhi - pretty good job by Ben Kingsley and Edward Fox. Probably not historically accurate, but they never are.
The Thing - this is a good reason to ignore the critics. They haven't made any movies.
Sophie's Choice - slow movie but a solid performance by Meryl Streep.
Fast Times at Ridgemont High - the first screenplay by Cameron Crowe. Sean Penn nails it and Phoebe Cates, with a little help from The Cars, delivers a hot scene which is still remembered today. Ray Walston also shines.
The World According to Garp - Robin Williams works his magic in the first film from a book by John Irving. Also one of Glenn Close's and John Lithgow's early standout performances.
Pink Floyd: The Wall - a bit disturbing, but don't think about it. Just enjoy the visuals and dig the music.

The channel still has Inside The Actor's Studio although it airs infrequently.
Almost at 1,000!

The Verdict, the movie that Newman should have won his Oscar for.

The Verdict, the movie that Newman should have won his Oscar for. To be honest I could've gotten behind him winning for Hud or Road.
