I'd recommend Late Phases: Night of the Lone Wolf www.imdb.com/title/tt2420756/combined , a pleasant low-budgeted surprise, with some excellent performances. A blind ex-veteran confronts werewolves in an old people's gated community. The main character, a principled grouch, reminds me of Eastwood in Gran Turino. What's not to like? (Only the full title is a misnomer. There is definitely more than one wolf.) This film seems to have sunk without trace, which is a shame as it is a stand out amongst a whole load of straight-to-DVD junk in this genre. Anyone else seen it?

Yeah, I've seen it and it immediately became one of my favorite werewolf films. Great practical effects and I loved the leading character, a blind war veteran who wants to get rid of the werewolf just because. The guy knew he's dying and had long lost will to live anyway so it's not like he was trying to defend himself, or even people around him, who he didn't even like. Makes a big difference really, since for once the story is not about the protagonists struggle for survival. It's about a how to live and die, and having some kind of principle. Just get the fucking job done. I thought that was great.
