Happy Birthday Nanette Fabray Born October 27, 1920 in San Diego, California. Though her movie career has been spotty, she won her fame through vaudeville, musical theatre and on Television (appeared 230 times on the game show The Hollywood Squares). She was in the entertainment bussiness since infancy at 3 years of age, with a supporting mother, between 1924 and 2007. She got a try out contract at Warner Brothers in her late teens and appeared in The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (as a lady-in-waiting), A Child Is Born, and the short The Monroe Doctrine, all from 1939, using her original stage name Nanette Fabares (Yes she is related to actress-singer Shelley Fabares, Shelley is her niece) At a benefit at Madison Square Garden in the early 1940's, The Master of Ceremony Ed Sullivan misspelled his cue card, and announced her as "Nanette Fa-Bare-Ass". Her later movie career includes the wonderfull The Band Wagon 1953, The Happy Ending 1969, Harper Valley PTA 1978, a nice little Disney movie Amy 1981 and Teresa's Tattoo 1994. Up until her early 20's she didn't know until a drama teacher suggested that she should have her hearing tested, she eventually was diagnosed with a hearing loss, about what she later said "It was a revelation to me. All these years I had thought I was stupid, but in reality I just had a hearing problem".
