i was sorting of hoping, in the far recesses of the back of my mind, that certain childish family feuds would be left behind as this new board started. knowing full-well the natures of quite a few of the poster here, along with their 'hit lists' of favorite targets, i just assumed that after so many years of squabbling and throwing hissy fits over who has the smallest pecker/vagina, that some of you would just grow up and let it go.
of course, the world will always have those who are so self-involved that everything is about them and constantly revolving around them.
so here's to playing nice and letting everyone just get a dong.

That's asking too much for some posters on here. Perhaps the best way is to put these people on ignore. This forum has a way to: - "hide a member's posts" - "don't let a member start new conversations with me" - "do not let member follow me or my activities" - "block notifications from this member"
This is under "profile-privacy settings-member block list"
If everyone does this, the trolls will go away.

I already don't get involved in message board feuds. It seems childish and I don't have the emotional energy to expend towards something so frivolous.
More to the point, the people who are reporting every opinion that they disagree with should either stop posting the board, grow a spine and be able to tolerate other opinions, or be IP banned from the forum.

To be honest, I think that this is kind of childish as well (although certainly a lot better than reporting). If one has no interest in interacting with so-and-so, then just don't respond to their posts.

It would be nice if we could maintain some maturity and put childish bickering behind us but some people don't seem willing to do that.

Sometimes reporting posts is the way to go, specifically if the individual is making threats against others. I find if you want to take a more aggressive stance, put the person on ignore.

Agreed.
I came back to see the note from Admin that this board has more reporting than all others combined. It's scary to think people can be that threatened by words, but it speaks to the mindset that you're talking about.
Decent conversation shouldn't be a hard thing for an adult to engage in.
