Europe - Always The Pretenders Sorry about the delay, as I have had a bit of busy few days/week behind me, but decided to give a few of your posts/videos music picks, a go. And yeah, I sure was surprised at how different Europe sounded, at least from where I left them. Of course, that was their mid 80s period, so I guess it was only natural, that they would evolve or change their style, but they fitted well in with the harder or edgier music they seem to focus on. Out of the videos/songs you posted, I actually kind of liked Human After All, the most. Something about it, that seems to just make it stand out, a bit more than the rest. It is kind of funny, how certain bands, who made "softer" music, a few decades ago, then when all of a sudden, you hear their later songs, and it has gone the opposite way, where as you have bands who made very heavy music earlier, now making "soft" rock. Speaking of Europe, I remember seeing a nice cameo of Joey Tempest, in the cozy and fun swedish comedy-show, Solsidan, where he ends up singing along in a wedding: He arrives at around 1 minute, more or less. I guess it is kind of weird, as I believe there are no subtitles, but to cut a "long" story short, Tempest arrives, and saves the day.

I guess it is kind of weird, as I believe there are no subtitles, but to cut a "long" story short, Tempest arrives, and saves the day. It’s nice to see you again and I hope everything has been going well on your end this week and Beccy and I had a fantastic time at the zoo with my family on the weekend and we got to see many animals we haven’t seen for a long time such as Koalas, Penguins, Elephants, Kangaroos, Chimpanzees, Seals, Giraffes, Gorillas, Meerkats and Wombats among other animals and you don’t realise just how much you miss certain places until you can’t go to them and zoos were one of those places for me I love to go to ‘cause I am animal lover (of cute and friendly ones. Not the scary ones ) and my Baby Niece (Kylie) liked seeing the animals too and we think Kangaroos were her favourite so we got her a plush toy of a Kangaroo and she seems to really like that and my Sister told me she had been cuddling and playing with it and I can’t wait to see her again tomorrow night. We are going to take my other Niece (Courtney) to the cinemas to see a movie next month and I am not sure what yet but am hoping they have something she will like and are there any new movies you are looking forward to seeing? Awww! That is sad about the kitten getting bullied a lot when she was younger but I am glad she had a very comforting and nice life with your Mum when she was older and thankfully our pets get along with each other here and there is no fighting between them and our cat, Vulpix who is our oldest pet wasn’t really sure about our Malshis (Occy and Sally) when we first got them and I think she thought they were a bit annoying ‘cause they were pretty wild back then and were often wanting to play ( ) but she has gotten used to them. Vulpix hates bugs though especially cockroaches and spiders and if we have one of those in our house and she sees it she will literally jump into action and be whacking them until they are dead and it is funny but scares the crap out of me some days when I am sitting at the table and she does it out of the blue and Beccy thinks I might have caused that ‘cause when I kill a bug like that I will hit it multiple times with something just to make sure it is dead ‘cause I watched enough Horror movies to know the scary things always come back so if it doesn’t work whack them again. Great to hear how things went during your visit with the family at the zoo. I do not think I have been visiting a zoo, since, well, "forever". However, I remember as a kid, (we really do not have too many "exotic" zoos in Norway) back in the early 90s, that me and my family visited Kristiansand Dyrepark, and I got to see lots of exciting animals, some rather scary ones as well. As one of the glasses which were supposed to hell certain predatory animals from, well getting free, had been broken/shattered, by a small crocodile. And I remember thinking, that if such a small crocodile, can do so much damage, what could mummy or daddy crocodile do, if they are having a bad day? What I was most looking forward to, was getting to see the wolves, but since they are very shy creatures, and travels for several big distances a day, I guess having that kind of animals in captive, specially enclosed in such small and tight places, later on I thought it was kind of depressing, but I guess that could be said about almost every animal, at least those how spend most of the days, going from one place, to another, and never just be in one place, all the time. However, when I were about 11-12 years old, I got to visit Langedrag with my class, and it is located in more snowy/mountain area, and they had these huge grey wolves in captive, and I got to see them up close, and that was quite a sight to behold. I also remember we stood outside the home of a red fox, and the owner or one of those who toured or guided the class, told us, that it is very rarely that the foxes would come out of hiding, because of how shy it is towards people, and then all of a sudden, while we are sitting down, and he was trying to lure it out, so we could see it. It all of a sudden "bursted" out, and gave me a "kiss" or more like a lick, how dogs greet people, not sure what it means in fox language, but it was quite funny and very memorable. Then it just ran straight back into his cave, and, well that was that days highlight for me. Speaking of the Australian animals, I remember I used to have this large animal book, which had all these beautiful and some rather scary as well, animals, and I always got kind of depressed, looking at these special ones, which either had been wiped out, or were in danger of being extinct, due to how mankind have intervened with nature, and yeah, I sure hope that times might change, and people will learn to take better care and respect the animals and nature, and how fragile they are. Yeah, having a cat or two, might be a nice way of getting rid of a bug problem, as I remember the ladycat to my mum, were quite a bugkiller, and she would go all into "berserk" mode, the moment she caught wind of one or more, flying or creeping around. However, the malecat, were more like a "coward", he just looked on, and sometimes seemed to go for hiding. Speaking of upcoming movies at the cinemas. I guess the new Bond movie is something I might be in for, hopefully it will be released later this fall, as I have always felt it were perfect set up for that time of the year. Beside that one, I am not if there are that many others, at least for now. But I will try to be a bit more updated for now on. How about you, are there any new films, you might like to see? About horror movies, and scary things, always coming back, for another round. Not sure if you have seen it, but I would very much recommend it, as it is such a well written, acted and fun horror-comedy, where Bruce Campbell surely puts in, maybe his best performance, as the old Elvis Presley, who is now located and forgotten, at some random rest home, and all of a sudden, well things start to liven up at nights, and yeah, it is just one hell of a film, and the bug scene is hilarious to watch: It is sad when a beloved pet passes away ‘cause they become a part of your life and I don’t think cats and dogs get to live long enough and some people might think that sounds silly but it just feels unfair and it would be nice if they could live longer. It is cute seeing their reactions when you get home and they are so happy and excited just to see you and I don’t know how but Occy and Sally seem to know what time Beccy usually comes home from work and on Monday to Friday they will walk over at that time in front of their little fence waiting and they will bark and cry if she goes to the shops and is late and when they hear our gate open the two of them go crazy barking and jumping up and down and I will have to pick them up and take them over to her some days and they go what we call wave crazy with their arms and they know when we are going to have visitors too. We have had some stray cats in our street at night that sound like they could be savage and they fight with other cats and make all these dreadful noises that wake us up sometimes and I think they would attack our pets if they could but they sleep inside so we don’t have to worry about them getting near them. Occy got attacked by a nasty bird one time outside though and we went inside for a few minutes and went back out to find Occy with blood on his head and a bird swooping at him and some birds can be rather nasty like that especially Magpies and have you ever had any incidents with birds ‘cause Beccy and I have both had Magpies come after us and it is not fun being chased by them and is pretty scary ‘cause they will aim for your head. Even scarier than Magpies and stray dogs and cats have been the sightings we have had in our area of Black Panthers and Komodo Dragons and I am honestly not sure if the Black Panther sightings are real or made up to scare people but there are towns that have built statues of them ‘cause so many people have seen them. We have also had Bigfoot/Yowie sightings in our state too though and do you have sightings of those in your country? I have found the best thing you can do when a pet has wind is spray the house and take it out the back for a while in case it does number 2 on the floor ‘cause that way you can get rid of the smell whether they do one or not. ( ) Yep, they become very quickly beloved family members, and I would have loved to gotten a bit more time with my former dog, but she got almost 12 years old, which I think is a lot years for a dog. No matter how kind and gentle our own pets or animals might be, it is always a potential risk that other animals is anything but, and some animals might get a trauma like reaction, if they end up getting attacked or hurt, by another dog/cat. Not that unlike how we humans would react, but sadly, for some dogs, they are tied outside (with no place to go/escape) and then to be attacked when the owner is away, by another animal, that must be very tought to handle, specially if the dog is very small or young of age. Black panthers and Komodo dragons? Wow, I am glad we do not have those kind of threats, wandering around the woods, at least for now. As there are lots of people buying illegal and dangerous animals, everyday, and I guess I do not need to warn of the risk of endangering the natural food chain, by including animals that have no natural link to the enviroment, as that is how Australia and America has sadly gotten to wipe out, or caused lots of damage to the animal kingdom, and it seems like an impossible task, of trying to make up for all those years of chaos. However, sometimes it also can do the opposite, actually some species come out much stronger, as they have to find new ways of cope with all these new and very different animals, when trying to find food or shelter. I am not too updated, or even aware of any Bigfoot/Yowie sightings in our country, as probably the closest, would be the more typical nordic/scandinavian mythical creatures, such as the Hulder, de underjordiska, trolls, tusser and draugen, which mostly comes from old folklore and books/stories. But I remember a tv-show, back in the 90s, which followed these more mythical creatures, and were trying to look more into what caused them to appear so frightening or haunting, and I guess back then, some hundred years ago, or less, more people lived outside the big cities, with far more distance from each other, and I guess some late night drinking and a bit of imagination, when wandering through the dark woods at night, trying to get back home. Well, I can see that the natural noises in a large wood, might cause some "sightings", but these days, those kind of experiences are proably less common. A lot of people say Grunge died when Kurt Cobain died ‘cause Nirvana were seen as the leading band of the genre even though they were trying things outside of it and it was sad he died young and they never released another album but I always wonder what Nirvana would have been like if Kurt Cobain had lived ‘cause Dave Grohl said he wanted to sing and write his own songs and would they changed and had half the songs by Kurt Cobain and the other half by Dave Grohl or would Dave Groul left and formed the Foo Fighters still ‘cause there is no denying Dave was talented and the Foo Fighters went on to have a lot of success as a band too and I think Kurt and Dave might have clashed over it if they had continued but it is kinda surprising Dave didn’t use Nirvana name after Kurt died like some other bands have such as Alice In Chains. I think that divided some fans though ‘cause some don’t see the new Alice In Chains as the same band and there are some Van Halen fans arguing over if they should keep going without Eddie since Alex is still alive and before Eddie died there was talk of David Lee Roth and Sammy Hagar doing Van Halen together for the fans performing all their songs. It is odd the lead singers of the three of the biggest Grunge bands are dead now and I was surprised over Chris Cornell and I read somewhere he was working on another Soundgarden album before he passed away and I am curious if that will see the light of day now ‘cause Eddie Money had an album coming out before he died which was his first new album in over two decades and it got pulled when he died and then they released it later and the same thing happened with the Cranberries after their lead singer, Dolores O'Riordan died and it is surprising she’s gone too. I think New Wave was the one genre that really got left behind in the 80s ‘cause we have a lot of new AOR/Melodic Rock and Glam Metal bands now but not any that are calling themselves New Wave which is a shame ‘cause it was a good genre and one that had a really unique sound to it but I think the sound become so identifiable with the 80s to people it is why it hasn’t come back but the songs on the final album by the Cars and the three songs on the New Cars (With Todd Rundgren) albums had a very New Wave feel to them. I was quite a Nirvana/Kurt Cobain fanatic, at least for a short time, during the early 00s. Bought into everything they put out on CD, VHS or DVD. I guess I kind of moved on, but having gone back, and re-visited a few other famous or big grunge acts, I never quite got into Pearl Jam, but Soundgarden, Alice in Chains and Nirvana were probably the three, which I felt most closer to, and I am thinking of giving a few listens to my Nirvana records this summer, as I always think of their records as "summer" music, or rather fitting for that time of the year. Kurt Cobain as a solo artist, that sounds interesting. I could see or hear him do lots of different (very different to the grunge sound), maybe more within the same style as their Unplugged MTV concert style of music, not that heavy or fast, and I think it might have suited him as both a singer and songwriter. Was it Michael Stipe, how said something about that him and Kurt, were planning on writing some music together, and which were supposed to be very mellow and "quiet" stuff, but sadly that never happened. The new wave sound, I guess kind of got "burned out" very fast, as it was such an eccentric, different and new style and direction, probably the best thing which came out of the punk-rock movement, at least so I feel. It were melodic, energetic and so many great and exciting young artists came out of it, some with very fast and sadly short lived careers, others, who have enjoyed several decades of success, and is still here with us. But I guess the best ones, tended to either gotten "swalloved" up by the big music machine, and then spit out, when the hits were no longer there, or they were seen as "yesterdays news". Joe Jackson were one of those truly gifted and sharp young talents, who had some impressive records and hit songs back in the late 70s and into the early 80s, but I guess somewhere along the way, he parted ways with the more commercial business, and maybe decided to do things his way, but his first 3-4 albums, are truly great stuff, specially Night and Day (1982). It is quite interesting, why some genres has either surived, or come back from "hiding", where others sadly has just faded away, and got stuck there. We have had so many different retro-nostalgic revivals over the last 15-20 years, and maybe the new wave era, might get another go, sometime soon. One can always hope. With the Classic radio stations I do think the people in charge believe most fans only like Pop friendly stuff and that is why they will mostly stick to playing that and they steer clear of Punk Music too with the exception of an occasional song by the Clash or The Damned like ‘Should I Stay or Should I Go’ or ‘Smash It Up’ and you don’t hear Black Flag, DOA or Dead Kennedys but some of their songs had very colourful and offensive language in them. What was seen as Punk also become more about a band’s image than the music they played which is why some Punk fans hated Good Charlotte since they saw them as a Pop Rock band masquerading as a Punk band. (lol) No. Grunge was not exactly a fun genre of music lyrically and had quite a few depressive songs and I remember a lot of dark and edgy things were very popular in the 90s but aren’t as popular as they once were now. I saw some grunge bands live in the 90s when they toured Australia at concerts and music festivals like Big Day Out and I never saw Nirvana but I did see Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Smashing Pumpkins, The Presidents, Violent Femmes and the Screaming Trees and they were all good in concert. Ohh. You should check out those movies when you have some free time ‘cause I think you might like them and I am surprised you haven’t seen ‘That Thing You Do’ ‘cause that was very popular when it came out here and one interesting note about that film is Tom Hanks co-wrote a number of the songs and they were actually pretty good and sound like they could have been real hits in the 60s. I actually didn't know 'City of Angels' was a remake and the original was made in Germany so that's news to me but I think it was a fairly good movie and enjoyed it. However, the success of The 'Iris' has become bigger than the movie and I don't know if you are a fan of the band but I have all their albums and some people don't know they started back in the 80s as a Punk band and Robby was the lead singer on the first few albums and John (their lead singer now) only sang a few songs but then they done a complete switch with John becoming the lead singer 'cause he had a better voice and more commercial appeal and it wasn't until 1995 they become well known for their hit 'Name' but they had multiple albums out before that and some fans believed they sold out 'cause they went from Alternative Rock to Mainstream Rock but I liked both. Thank you for the videos of the Cocteau Twins and I think I do remember hearing them now and I am familiar with the Dream Pop genre too and The Sundays and The Innocence Mission's earlier albums before they become more Pop/Folk have been called that. By the way, have you heard of the band, Magnum? I think they are one of the most underrated Rock bands of all time and they started back in the 70s and are still going now and have a lot of good songs out like these below. Have a good week and I'll catch up with you again soon. Oh yeah, the radio stations usually loves to play it safe, only playing the same songs, over and over and over, and it is kind of a shame, as so many of these great bands and artists, must have at least a dozen or more, far superior songs cut out, yet all we here is the same stuff, and yeah, that kind of sucks, if one is a fan of the bands or artists, rather than those who only listens to the hits, and nothing else. I understand how some fans, might got angered by hearing or reading that certain very commercial and surely anything but "punk" rock in music or lifestyle, gets labeled that term, when they are just as innocent and melodic, as the next pop-star or band. I remember when Norwegian critics, started calling Avril Lavigne, for the young punk-princess, or something like that. And yeah, also Linkin Park, as heavy or hard metal, that did not sit too well with the fans and audience of heavy metal or hard rock. But I guess they do not care too much, those who writes such articles. I am sorry of not having gotten to hear/write back, about all the songs you have posted. Will try to do so later on, as things have gotten a bit hectic, but I will come back to those. Magnum? Were they a prog-rock act? Sounds familiar, but then again, only in name, as I have most likely never heard anything from them, yet. Anyway, as of right now, I have been listening to some Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds records, and the one I have been hearing recently, is The Good Son (1990), which I believe comes with some stunning cuts, but I feel I am not truly all "there", yet. My favorite, as of now, is still his Murder Ballads, but from The Good Son, my favorite cut, right now, has to be: By the way, finally now it seems like the summer is about to get ready for me as well, at least that is how the weather looks up, and hopefully it will stay that way, for a long while. Sunny, warm and also a bit windy, which I love, cause just hot and steamy/warm, with no wind, that is, well can get a bit too much. But at least, the sun is back, and considering how much rain and grey weather, we have had for the past few weeks, anything resembling summer weather, is very much welcome. Anyway, you take care, and be sure to have great weekend. Hi Stefancrosscoe
That’s okay. I was wondering where you had gone to but am glad to see you are still here and you enjoyed the music videos of Europe I posted. The band has changed their style significantly since they got back together in the 00s but I think going in a more Hard Rock direction suits them too and I have really liked their latest albums. We have a live album of Europe called ‘Live at Sweden Rock 30th Anniversary’ too and it sounds funny hearing them perform all their new and old songs together like that but Joey Tempest’s voice still sounds the same when he does to his credit. Yeah. There are quite a few old bands that have gone in the opposite direction with their music during their later years and either became heavier or softer and Toto is another band that has changed a lot (as you can hear below) and then some like Rush, Uriah Heep, Nazareth, Magnum, Kiss and the Scorpions that have been around for a long time change their style every decade to go with the times and you can easily tell the difference between a Rush album made in the 70s, 80s or 90s for example ‘cause they were one of those bands that had distinct sounds in those decades but change can lose some fans even when it makes Artists and Bands more successful and it is not always possible to please everybody.
Thank you for letting me know about that Joey Tempest cameo and that was funny and I didn’t know he done acting too but I have seen a few Rock stars in movies and shows and I don’t know if you saw ‘Vampires: Los Muertos’ but Jon Bon Jovi was the main star of that movie and that was the first film I saw him act in and I was kinda waiting for him to break out into song when he was fighting vampires but he never did and did you know Jon was originally going to play the Crow in ‘The Crow: City of Angels’ and he was said to have wrote all these songs he was going to sing in it and would have been a singer that was murdered and came back as the Crow but I think the studio decided it was cheaper for them to use another actor and they rewrote the script. There have been a lot of actors that have crossed over and done music and vice versa and it was very common for Actors to do both like Frank Sinatra, Doris Day and Bing Crosby when Musicals were popular but nowadays a lot of them are the subject of mockery which I don’t think is fair ‘cause there are some Actors that are good singers too and have had changed careers ‘cause they have had more success as singers like Mackenzie Porter (who is in my avatar) who quit her acting career and do you have any favourite Actors that sing?
I heard about the new James Bond movie and we will most likely see it too ‘cause Lea Seydoux is in it ( ) but I haven’t been a big fan of Daniel Craig to be honest and I grew up watching James Bond movies with my Grandfather and he was a big fan of the Roger Moore Bond movies and I liked those the most ‘cause of that and also liked Pierce Bronson who was in ‘Remington Steele’ but the current Bond just comes across as very wooden and lacking the charisma the other Bonds had to me and my other problem with him is they seem to have made him more of a killer than a hero and you are free to disagree with me, of course but I feel the other Bonds come across as more heroic and I also liked the Comedic elements in the Moore and Bronson movies. I am curious to see what will happen with the franchise after Daniel Craig leaves and if they will go back to somebody more like Roger Moore, Pierce Bronson or Timothy Dalton and make them lighter and Pierce Bronson has said he would like to play an older version of James Bond like Sean Connery did in ‘Never Say Never Again’ or return as a Bond that has become a villain and the new one has to stop him and I think that would be fun to see.
There are quite a few upcoming movies I am looking forward to seeing but I am not sure when some of them are going to be out and I really want to see Batgirl and have been waiting years for a ‘Batgirl’ movie and to finally see Barbra Gordon/ Batgirl in live action again and I also want to see ‘Red Sonja’, ‘Revealer’, ‘Halloween Kills’, ‘Insidious 5’, ‘Legally Blonde 3’, ‘Candyman’, ‘Subspecies 5’, ‘Spider-Man 3’, ‘Spider Woman’, ‘Happy Death Day 3’, ‘The Princess Diaries 3’, ‘Fathom’, ‘Soulfire’, ‘Doktor Death (Puppet Master spinoff), ‘Hellraiser (movie and TV Show on the way and Clive Barker FINALLY got the rights back and can fix the series!)’ Firestarter’, ‘Enchanted 2’, ‘The Little Mermaid’, ‘The Evil Dead 5’, ‘Benedetta’, ‘The Retreat’, ‘Sonic the Hedgehog 2’, ‘The Batman’, ‘Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 and 2’, ‘Nightwing’ (rumoured to be on HBO Max like Batgirl), ‘Black Widow’, ‘Zootopia 2’ and one I think might be bad but the new ‘Children of the Corn’ movie ‘cause it was filmed not far from where we live and I want to see if we recognise the town in it. We have seen a number of Bruce Campbell’s movies and like ‘The Evil Dead’ franchise but I don’t think we have seen that movie so thank you for recommending it and I will look into it and let you know what we thought of it when we see it.
Thank you for answering my question about wrestling before and I remember a lot of those names were in movies and TV Shows in the 80s and 90s and Hulk Hogan was the biggest at the time and Goldberg was in a few too but a lot of them never went well as you said until the Rock made the crossover and he is now one of the biggest actors in the world and it is surprising how successful he has become as an actor ‘cause a lot of people said when he was in ‘The Mummy Returns’ and ‘The Scorpion King’ he was never going to be big as an actor and he proved all the doubters wrong. I totally agree with your comments about there being no bad dogs, just bad owners and 90 percent of the time when a dog is nasty and gets out and attacks people it is the owner’s fault for mistreating it and not making sure it couldn’t escape and when I was living with my parents the guy next door used to kick and abuse his dog often and it turned savage. It is true about snakes here and thankfully we haven’t had any in our front or backyard since we moved here but we have had lizards and there was a Blue Tongued Lizard in our backyard one time I thought was a snake ‘cause I could only see parts of it in the garden out the window but it was a long Blue Tongued Lizard.
Yeah. We do surprisingly have sightings of Black Panthers and Komodo Dragons but Beccy and I have thankfully never seen them around here () and I was telling another member recently there was a really big cat up in Queensland that was the size of a lion and it was eating other cats and dogs along with other animals and locals were scared of it ‘cause it was going after them too when they tried to go near it and I am not sure what it was but I saw some of the pictures and it looked like a big fat cat and not like a tiger or a lion and it was like it swallowed a horse and I think they must have got some people to get it ‘cause we didn’t hear about it again. There have been a lot of animals that have gone extinct in our country and we sadly can’t bring them back now or make up for the years of chaos we have done to the animal kingdom but it is believed some like the Tasmanian Tiger might still be alive but only in small numbers ‘cause of multiple sightings and pictures in recent times and I think we can protect the animals we have now but we need to do more and stop their homes from being ruined.
With Bigfoot/Yowies I think it is highly possible such creatures could exist ‘cause they are very similar looking to some of the large apes that existed in the past but I think if most of the sightings were real they would have found one by now and had 100 percent definitive proof they existed and there was a show called ‘Finding Bigfoot’ where they went around to all these different towns looking for them and they even came here to Australia for an episode but during all the seasons they never found one so I think most sightings are a bit of the imagination wandering as you said and the people may have been drunk or even sleep walking a bit. Onto music I am a fanatic with a lot of Artists and Bands like that and I will go through periods where I will buy every album they have released and listen to them often in order and then I will move onto another Artist or Band and then go back to them again later and I have come to like some Artists and Bands I found okay even more from buying and listening to their albums ‘cause I thought their albums tracks were even better than their singles. I am not a huge Pearl Jam fan either but I think they have had some good songs and got a 2CD Greatest Hits album of theirs and I am not really sure if they ever fitted the Grunge label since they were around before it but didn't become really popular until the early 90s but I like Soul Asylum and they are still together now and did you like them?
I love Juliana Hatfield and she started out in the Blake Babies and went solo and she has had a lot of albums out over the years and we got to see her in concert and she was really good. Another 90s band I liked that I wish we had gotten more albums was Letters to Cleo and the lead singer, Kay Hanley has some solo albums out and has sang in other bands like The Dilletantes and Palmdale but I was disappointed they didn't stay together and release more. Bif Naked is one of the most underrated Alternative Rock Artists of the 90s and early 00s in my opinion and she is worth checking out if you haven't heard her before. I like Joe Jackson and have some of his albums and I agree his earlier albums were his best and I think it is possible New Wave could come back and there are quite a few New Wave bands who are still around and touring and we have had some 80s music festivals here that have had bands like Go West, Human League, Cutting Crew, Spandau Ballet, Bananarama, Squeeze, ABC, A Flock of Seagulls and Dexy's Midnight Runners at them and Go West was on Sunrise a couple of years ago and they were really popular here in the 80s and early 90s and had multiple top 10 hits in Australia and they were surprised over how successful their songs were in our country. Magnum are a Melodic Rock band that started out in the late 70s and they have changed their style multiple times over the years and were more Prog Rock at the start of their career and then changed over to AOR and they are one of the bands that have gone in a more heavier direction but still do ballads too and have their 22nd studio album coming out next year. Anyways, I hope you have a good weekend too and it is good to hear you are having Sunny and warm and we have been having that too the last two days.

Hi Stefancrosscoe That’s okay. No plans of going away, anytime soon, but yeah, things tend to happen, every then and now, and I felt I had to take a short time-out, at least for a while. But I always try to get back on, as soon as I can. Oh yeah, Rush sure ticked off quite a few fans, and specially those who seem to prefer their more prog-hard rock dominated sound, of the 70s, tend to dismiss or talk down, the more synth-pop-rock dominated releases of the 80s, but then again, I doubt that was something the band themselves, ever bothered much about. For me, I guess their 70s and 80s albums, are surely those I treasure the most. Where as the 90s albums, not having heard every one, but few have gotten as much attention, as the ones from the mentioned decades. Still, they did always hand out several great songs, even with albums I thougth of as, well kind of "mediocre". But yeah, I guess pleasing everybody, is an impossible task. But going into the record studio with that kind of thinking, it will probably only do things worse, as great music should not be made out of pleasing everybody else, but instead taking chances and to make the kind of record one wants to do there and then, not do something else, only because of the fears it might sell bad, or get lousy reviews, or alienate the fanbase. And Rush surely is a fine example of taking some big chances and then going places. I am not so sure of how the acting career of Joey Tempest really is, but I do know he showed up in the swedish comedy show Solsidan, as a nice cameo, because he was one of the main characters, favorite singer, or something like that. Anyway, it was a nice way of closing of that season with. Jon Bon Jovi, I knew had a few roles, both on tv (Ally McBeal during the later years, which I guess was a hasty romantic replacement, when Robert Downey Jr. were written out, because of his personal struggles). Did not know of, Jon and his potential part in The Crow franchise, but sounds like it could have been an interesting take. I guess the far too many Elvis movies (I have never seen any of them, yet) kind of is often thrown around, probably as a bad joke or to scare off people, when bringing up musicians heading into the movie business. But of course, there are those, who surely fitted much better in, and some, have done very well, in more minor parts, rather than trying for the main lead, and I think specially rock stars, like Iggy Pop, Lemmy, Ozzy, Gene Simmons and John Lydon, are nice examples of famous artists, who often showed up smaller but memorable parts, and played their roles, rather well. Where as David Bowie, surely were one of those who I think could have done a great transition from music into starring in many films, specially in the 80s, as the leading man. Madonna however, I guess is not the best example, not saying she was a bad actress, but I think many directors maybe were not sure how to make best use of her talent, and while her part in Who's That Girl? is often ridiculed (because of her voice and hairstyle) I think she did well, trying to differ from her pop-star image, and it was a enjoyable romantic screwball comedy, which I guess ended up as an easy target for the critics, but stands as the only Madonna movie I have in my collection, well that and Dick Tracy, but I do not think of it as a Madonna movie, she is in there, but her part is kind of forgettable, or so I think. Oh yeah, I do not dislike Daniel Craig, but he is not exactly the most "charismatic" fella in the James Bond movie history, to portray 007. I guess he was the right choice, for the next generation of Bond movies, but beside GoldenEye (1995), very few of the films after the 80s, have that kind of "classic" James Bond feel to them, and I guess I am getting a bit older and grumpier, as the years move by, but Sean Connery and Roger Moore, those are very hard acts, to follow. Both where elegant and charming, but could also be very lethal and brutal, still Moore somehow is kind of talked down, as a "softer" James Bond, but I think many dismiss his period, mostly due to his version having more comedic situations and references, thrown in, but of course, the films also, were not that strong or groundbreaking, as the older ones. Still, The Spy Who Loved Me and For Your Eyes Only, as right up there, among the best Bond films, and Live and Let Die and Moonraker are still very fun and fast paced releases, that I still love very much. The newer films, with Daniel Craig, well, not bad, but somehow, I just do not get the classic re-watchability factor, which the older ones come with, so much of. Also, with so many of the last 20-25 years (or more) of action cinema, and there are now other popular and very well made action-adventure franchises (Jason Bourne and the Mission Impossible films), which surely at times, feels more like a James Bond movie, than the real ones, and I think that kind of started, already back in the 90s, where you had both True Lies (1994) and Mission Impossible (1996), coming out, with a very heavy spy-adventure theme going, and they put the "scare" into the Bond producers, who knew that they had to really go all out, but also realize that times have changed, and update the Bond movies, and of course, they did very well, with GoldenEye, but now, I guess the Bond universe, is no longer all that "special" or unique, and I guess the changes of that happening again, is maybe not something which might happen anytime soon. Anyway, I like your idea of having one of the former, and older Bond actors, returning, and having gone over the to dark side, and yeah, I think someone should borrow that from you, and make it into a movie. I sure would have loved seeing something like an unofficial Bond release, like they did back in 83 with two Bond movies, coming out, and it would sure be a thrill for the fans. You sure are updated on the upcoming movies, as I had probably not heard or known about 90-95 percent of those, but now that I have gone through those mentioned, I guess I know where to look, for interesting recommendations in the future. I had actually forgotten about Zootopia 2, and yeah, I would like to see a follow up to that one. Also, I think Michael Keaton will return, as an older (not surprisingly) Bruce Wayne/Batman) in the upcoming Flash movie. That is something I am kind of really looking forward to, as beside the mentioned Bond actors, Keaton for me, will always be my favorite superhero actor, along with Christopher Reeve. Loved his part in the Tim Burton films, and I have just recently ordered a film of his, called The Dreamteam (1989), which looks to be like a very fun comedy, with Peter Boyle and Christopher LLoyd. Scary about the dangers of aggressive dogs and terrible owners, as here in Norway, just a few days ago, a 1 year old boy, got killed by two large dogs, and the dogs were soon killed, but I am wondering what will happen with the owner, as sadly, there have been much older stories, of lousy dog owners, who has aggressive dogs, who attacks other dogs or people, and they got put down, then a few years goes on, and the same bad owners, just get a new dog, and the same might happen over again. Yeah. We do surprisingly have sightings of Black Panthers and Komodo Dragons but Beccy and I have thankfully never seen them around here ( ) and I was telling another member recently there was a really big cat up in Queensland that was the size of a lion and it was eating other cats and dogs along with other animals and locals were scared of it ‘cause it was going after them too when they tried to go near it and I am not sure what it was but I saw some of the pictures and it looked like a big fat cat and not like a tiger or a lion and it was like it swallowed a horse and I think they must have got some people to get it ‘cause we didn’t hear about it again. Anyways, I hope you have a good weekend too and it is good to hear you are having Sunny and warm and we have been having that too the last two days. I guess the biggest cat we got, is the lynx or Gaupe, I think it is also called Bobcat (not Goldthwait though ) and it is very shy of nature, but has a certain well known cry or call, which makes sure, you know it is out there, and that you rarely see it, but you can bet it sure knows exactly where you are. Speaking of the Tasmanian Tiger, have you seen the drama-thriller The Hunter (2010) with Willem Dafoe and Sam Elliot? I think that is one of the best made and acted films of Dafoe, and one which is kind of a slow-burner, but gets better, each time you see it, and has a very haunting atmosphere over how this lonely hunter, is searching for an even lonelier and mythical creature, and yeah, not gonna spoil too much, but it is such as fine little gem, that I am glad I stumbled over, during one of my many impulse purchases. Somehow, I am a bit of a naive romantic, when it comes to these stories of mythical creatures and animals, as I kind of feel it would be a depressing thought, to have someone say with 100 percent sure, that we are all alone in the universe, or that this and that does not and have never existed. Kind of kills a lot of fantasies and imagination, and sometimes, I am a bit jelaous, of those who still are on the hunt for bigfoot or the creature of Loch Ness. To have that kind of belief and just go the other way around, and yeah, then sometimes I think, what if they really did met up with something unexplainable, and nobody will ever believe them, and all they get in return is ridicule. Right now, the summer weather is surely settling on well, but I kind of miss the cold wind, specially during night time. I am a terrible sleeper, during the summer period, but I guess I cannot really complain, as we usually do not have this kind of wather, for that much time a year. Nice to hear that so many of the 80s classic artists and bands, are still doing well, and I guess as you said, for some, it must be an extra motivation, to get back or realize that so many people, still love and care for their music. It is kind of sad, when former big names, return, many years on, and well, it has gone the other way. They think or act, like they are still big stars, but they end up playing in front of, like 20 people, almost like it was a Spinal Tap moment, and even worse, are those who barely can sing or play anymore, and still act like it was the 1980s, but it is just painful to behold, and sadly, a few too many, has gone down that route. Well, that is it, for now. And I hope you and your loved ones, will have a nice week, and be sure to stay away of any big fat cats and komodo dragons, and stay safe. Anyway, take care and we will most likely catch up again.

Hi Stefancrosscoe
That is good to hear and I understand how things can happen sometimes and get in the way of plans and I always try to reply to everybody on the days I am online ‘cause I usually only have time to write long responses to people every second or third day due to work but when I receive more emails than usual, my phone rings or we have family or friends coming over I have to put some things on hold for next time such as posting here and on my friend’s forum but I always reply to people when I can and that being I don’t think I have given you my email address and it is deblovesbec@gmail.com and you can contact me on that anytime you wish and I check that the most. We had a Flood Relief concert in the town next to us the other day and they had a number of our well-known Artists and Bands there such as Dragon, Shannon Noll, Thirsty Merc, Imogen Clark and the lead singer of Taxiride who you’re probably not familiar with over in Norway () but had quite a few hits on the chart here and it was nice they done that ‘cause the State and Federal governments have done stuff all for many of people affected by the floods and the State Governments are too busy giving themselves pay rises.
It is surprising how much it upsets some fans when certain Artists or Bands change the style of music they perform and to some like fans of Rush they see it as this huge betrayal and they will go onto say they were only good during their early years and sold out () and no, I don’t think Rush would have cared too much about those people ‘cause they went onto win over a heap of new fans who weren’t that familiar with their material from the past decade with songs like ‘Tom Sawyer’ which I think was Rush’s biggest hit on the charts and I enjoy listening to their 70s and 80s albums together and I don’t think it was really that significant of a change as some people make out compared to somebody like Taylor Swift who went from Country Music to Pop. With their 90s albums I think ‘Roll the Bones’ and ‘Counterparts’ were the best and I also liked their ‘Clockwork Angels’ from 2012 but I feel all of their albums had at least one or two standout tracks on them too. I really like some albums by Artists and Bands fans were not very fond of ‘cause they were different than their other albums and Kiss’ ‘Crazy Nights’, Bon Jovi’s ‘Lost Highway’, Saxon’s ‘Destiny’, Scorpions’ ‘Eye to Eye’ and Uriah Heep’s ‘Equator.’
When Artists and Bands record albums like that which are different than what most of us are used to it shows they are capable of playing a whole range of styles and I talked to you about the unreleased album by Judas Priest last year and I am hoping Rob still goes ahead with his album of Sinatra classics ‘cause it would be fun to hear him performing in that style. Pleasing everybody is impossible to do so I think the best thing Artists and Bands can so is records albums that are true to themselves ‘cause if their heart isn’t in them people are going to be able to tell just like an Author writing a novel they no longer want to write and end up giving a poor ending. I remember Jon Bon Jovi being in ‘Ally McBeal’ and Josh Grobin was in the show too along with some other singers and Robert Downey Jr is another Actor that sings and he mimed for Elton John in one of his music videos but he sings too and he isn’t the only Actor in the Marvel movies that sings and Brie Larson had a music career and I actually first discovered her when she was a singer on You Tube and my eldest Niece liked some of her songs and I forgot her name and didn’t realise it was the same person until I recognised the songs.
Funny enough some of our most successful female singers here like Kylie Minogue, Natalie Imbruglia and Delta Godrem all started out in the TV Show, ‘Neighbours’ and almost every big Australian Actor that has made it in Hollywood started out in that or ‘Home and Away’ too. I have seen some of those names you mentioned and Alice Cooper has done some acting too and he was Freddy Kreuger’s Dad in ‘Freddy’s Dead’ which I think they cast for a bit of a joke. My Aunt loved David Soul from ‘Starksy and Hutch’ and he had two big hits out in the 70s that are still played on radio here now and Patrick Swayze’s ‘She’s Like the Wind’ is often featured on Greatest One Hit Wonder shows. I have to admit I like Bruce Willis as a singer ‘cause he is really funny and doesn’t take himself seriously and some of his songs are hilarious.’ I agree with you about David Bowie and I saw ‘Dick Tracey’ but haven’t seen Madonna acting in many other things but from what I recall she wasn’t great.
No. Daniel Craig’s Bond is not very charismatic compared to the other Actors that have played James Bond in the past but to be fair I think a big part of that has to do with the way the writers have wrote him in the recent movies and they went in a darker direction after Pierce left and that was where the franchise lost its classic feel for me and I think Q was a big loss too ‘cause the original Actor was in so many of the movies from Sean Connery up until Pierce Bronson and I am not a fan of having a young Q like they have now ‘cause it ruins the dynamic between him and Bond and I liked how Bond and Q used to always tease each other and Q was always telling Bond not to break things but I think both Q and Moneypenny had more faith in Bond than anyone else. When the original actor died John Cleese replaced him but they surprisingly didn’t keep him long and I think it was ‘cause he was too Comedic and they wanted to get rid of all Comedy elements in it. I think ‘Goldeneye’ was the last Bond movie that was a classic too but I always liked ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ and ‘The World Is Not Enough’ too and feel ‘Die Another Day’ was the weakest of the Pierce Bronson movies.
What is funny about Roger Moore is I heard he was the original choice for James Bond from the start but he was too busy his TV Show, ‘The Saint’ that was very popular at the time and turned down ‘Dr. No’ so they got Sean Connery to play Bond instead and at some point Jack Lord who played Felix and went onto become more well known for ‘Hawaii Five O’ was a favourite to play Bond too and he lost the role ‘cause Cubby Broccoli didn’t want an American Actor. For an Actor some call the softer Bond Roger Moore done something a lot of other actors wouldn’t have done which was run across the top of the heads of Crocodiles and they were having trouble filming that scene ‘cause they were worried if they used a stuntman people would notice it wasn’t the same person so Roger Moore told them to film and he would do it himself and he was lucky he survived that ‘cause one wrong movie and those Crocodiles would have eaten him. I like ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ the most too and one of the biggest criticisms I have heard about the Roger Moore movies is the villains were over the top but I thought Jaws for example was a pretty entertaining character and it was kinda unrealistic how he was able to kill a shark but then I like a lot of the unrealistic villains and are you put off by unrealistic villains?
Thanks and I think it would be good to see an older Bond Actor return for one more movie and could get a lot of fans wanting to see the movie and you only have to look at how excited fans are over the return of Michael Keaton in the upcoming ‘Flash’ movie along with the possibility of Andrew Garfield and Tobey McGuire returning for the next Spider-Man. Yeah. I am pretty sure Michael Keaton will be playing the same version of Batman he was in the Tim Burton movies too which should be fun to see and Michelle Pfeiffer has said she would like to play Catwoman again too and I wouldn’t mind seeing her come back to play Catwoman again either. Christopher Reeve was great as Superman and it was sad what happened to him and even though ‘Superman 4’ was the most hated of all Superman films I think a lot of fans would have liked him back for a fifth movie ‘cause it was the writers who were to blame for that movie not being great but it sadly couldn’t happen. I don’t know if you have watched ‘Smallvile’ but Christopher Reeve was in a few episodes of that before he passed away and they gave him a character where he was able to be the first one to tell Clark about Krypton.
You’re welcome for the movie recommendations and two other movies I forgot to mention we are taking my Niece (Courtney) to see at the movie theatres this year are 'Spirit Untamed' and 'Paw Patrol: The Movie' which comes out in September and you can see the trailer of below. Yeah. ‘Zootopia 2’ is still coming out and I read they are planning on making three movies and I hope they all get released ‘cause I loved the first movie. That is said about the one year old boy who was killed by dogs in Norway and sadly that is the type of thing that happened here when children have been outside and these dogs have escaped and often the owner would get away with it and they made some changes to the law here so they wouldn’t but it doesn’t do enough in my opinion and the owners should be held accountable ‘cause it is their dogs. Some owners don’t think they should be though and blame it on other people and there was one owner on the news a few years ago who tried to blame his dog getting out and attacking children on his girlfriend that didn’t even live with him and talk about not taking any responsibility….No. I haven’t seen ‘The Hunter’ but it does sound interesting and I will see if it is on Foxtel Download. We are watching Raw and Batwoman tonight though. It has been nice talking to you again and I will reply to those other things I missed next time and hope you have a great week.

It is a nice thing, having set up a concert in support of those having been affected by floods. I guess most of the planned (I believe some are still not taken down, as of yet) concerts and tours in Norway, will be postponed or deleted, for now. Also the famous football cup, Norway Cup, I think is also this year cancelled. I was lucky enough, to participate back in summer of 1998, and had such a blast, even if we got knocked out, early on. But, most of the fun, is not what is going on in the football fields, but outside, meeting up with people from all over the world, listening to music, eating ice cream, looking at the girls, and yeah, fun times when being a teenager full of hormones and all. Yeah, when certain "fans" begin speaking out, that their heroes has "sold out", because of musical changes, or because they cut their hair (I think Metallica caused quite an upset, during the mid 90s, where some fans, even today, loathe their shorter hairstyles, and is more obsesses about trash talking that, than having anything to say about the music). Anyway, I would like to say one day, that I like everything that my favorite bands and artists have ever made, but of course, that is not how life works out, and to be honest, it is probably for the better. If not, picking a favorite album, would be kind of hard, or if not impossible. Still, with bands like Rush, even the "lesser" releases, have some true gems on them, and while I do not play the albums, all that often, I would seek them up, from time to time, in order to hear the gems of those records. Roll the Bones, while not being among the ones I like all the much, I think it comes with some very nice and kind of underrated cuts, and I am not sure if I have visited Counterparts, yet, but I might seek it out, one day. When I think of some of the huge musical changes, with a few of my favorite acts, I guess it is hard not to mention Talk Talk, who went from being labeled and dismissed early on, as yet another "Duran Duran" rip-off, to then become a very successfull synthpop and new wave act, charting several hits, and then all of a sudden, they would kind of "disappear", then return with something very different, no hits and it seemed to not only divide the fans, but their own record company tried to sue them, because they had no chance of commercial success, and I really enjoy all of their albums, but the change that went on, around 1984-85, I think is very impressive and interesting. You could clearly see and hear, they were fed up with the music business and popstar "act", and wanted to do things, their way. It is also kind of sad, as one of the last performances, I think they had to be "forced" up on stage, in order to perform in front of an audience, who seemed to be expecting the more typical late 80s pop-melodic hits, and instead, you got this very personal and sad song, which I believe were written by Mark Hollis, about his older brother, who died of an drug overdose. And yet, this cultural "clash", somehow, it all feels like a fitting end, to one of those very special and unique groups of that era. Who just "faded" away of fame and commercial success, and did not go out with a huge bang, but the complete opposite. And I think that is what they wanted all along. A lot of fans and other musicians surely tried their best, to lure the band back into making more records, but somehow, I think if they had done exactly so, making comebacks after comebacks, but where the music and songs, maybe no longer were as good or important, it would maybe kind of "killed off" how "mystical" their impact later on, got. It is funny how you bring up Bruce Willis, as I just last summer, re-watched Hudson Hawk (1991), which I guess took a loot negative feedback, when it got released. Sure, it was probably not the easiest film, to promote. People were not sure if it was gonna be yet another action or adventure movie, a comedy, a romantic movie, a crime-heist film? And then all of a sudden, you have Bruce and Danny Aiello, singing old crooners, while robbing some luxurious place or museum. Anyway, I really dug that film, not a classic, but fun and did never take itself too seriously. Madonna, well, she did marry british director Guy Ritchie, who for a short while, seemed to follow up the tough-hip crime-comedy style of Tarantino, but with a british style and flavour, and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells along with Snatch, were hard to miss out on, but most of the films he later made, well, they just felt a bit too "much", and well, I did actually enjoy the two Sherlock Holmes movies, with Robert Downey Jr. and thought they were quite funny and different, but in a positive way. Madonna however, I remember she starred in a few romantic failures, much later on. I think one of them, was actually directed by her then husband, Ritchie, and maybe that is the reason to why she married him, to still get leading roles? Speaking of taking the Bond series into darker territories, I do remember when I re-watched most of the later Bond movies, along with a few other fans, through a norwegian movie site, where we would each watch the same Bond film, then the next days, write about it and compare notes and thoughts. I think most were quite on agree, that for Pierce, it started very well with GoldenEye, but somehow the later films, sadly just ended up, as very "generic", lots of explosions, beautiful women, weird looking villains and so, but something felt a bit off, and such a shame, as Pierce Brosnan was a breath of fresh air, when he took over the role, even though I think Timothy could have still handled his part, very well, if he had stayed on. Anyway, about the darker stuff, I remember thinking how brutal the opening shot, of Die Another Day turned into, but then it just got almost like a parody, for most of what followed. Terrible plot, weak villains and even Halle Berry felt like she was just pushed in, to be yet another Bond babe, but not much connection/chemistry with her male co-lead. Tomorrow Never Dies, even if it is now where near (or so I believe) as good or well done, as GoldenEye, it still were lots of fun, to re-watch last year. Fast paced, and Michelle Yeoh turned out to be among my favorite Bond-ladies of the 80s and 90s, and of course, it sure helped, that I first saw it late in 1997, at the cinemas, with my dad. Roger Moore was kind of unlucky but also kind of lucky, I guess. Not many get a second chance, specially at something as big, as the Bond role. But a lot of people forget, that there was many who felt he were complete wrong, because he had blonde hair, and not dark, but I think he proved many of his doubters wrong, over the years. The crocodile stunt, I remember hearing about, and yeah, I think it was Lee Marvin, who stood up for his co-worker and friend, because he felt many american critics and fans, kind of bad mouthed Roger, as he had more of an elegant and kind of "poshier" way of style and how he played James Bond, to where Sean Connery seemed more rugged and brutal at times. But Marvin also told, that he had managed to get himself into a fistfight with his british co-worker, and said that Roger were built like a tank and strong as an bull, or something, and was much more brave, than some of the dismissive "softer" criticism, that had built up, during the 70s. As a kid, I loved the classic Bond villains, like Oddjob and Jaws, but I guess Jaws got so popular, that they decided to write him into the Moonraker movie, and I always (when I was a kid) thought he and his little gal, got killed, during the ending, but later on, I realized that was not the case. Wonder if they thought of bringing Richard Kiehl, back for a third adventure. But with For Your Eyes Only, you could sense that they went for a more darker approach, than the light hearted tone in the latter Bond film. And I guess, that meant no room for over-the-top villains, at least for a while, until Grace Jones and her MayDay arrived with Roger and his last 007 performance, with A View to a Kill, in 1985. I sure would not mind, seeing Michelle back in the catsuit, but well, I guess we just have to wait and see. How fast the decline of the Superman franchise, turned, that is always kind of sad to look back on. The first one, was such a great film, and very important for the whole adventure and fantasy genre, but the further into the rest of the franchise, it just got more cheap looking, and I remember watching some clips, from the making of the later Superman sequels, and you could clearly see how much work and effort, Reeve put into his role as Clark Kent and Superman, and sadly, he was let down by the studios or producers, and still, I kind of like to think, that Quest for Peace, is actually the better film, than the third one, which felt like almost a Richard Pryor/Gene Hackman movie, with Christopher Reeve, just showing up in a "cameo", and nah, I never liked that one, much. I do remember catching a few of the later episodes of Smallville (I am always surprised at how many seasons that show stayed on, must have had quite a loyal fanbase over the years), and also got to the one, featuring Christopher Reeve. I think it was a nice and classy touch, and kind of want me to look up for some of the DVDs, and have another look at the show, only to get to that moment with Reeve. By the way, thanks for the link to your email. I am not usually too busy on the email stuff, but I mostly visit my mailbox, for checking up on films, music or other stuff I have orderer recently. Anyway, time sure flies by, as I feel like I am almost halfway through the week already, so I guess we will just catch up again, and looking forward to hear from you later on. Also, thanks for the trailer clip of PAW Patrol, that sure looks cute, and seems like it has a bit of the same style or plot as (of course I have forgotten the title) a recently made (a few years back) animated movie, about all these pets, staying home, while still making the most of it, and I think it also got a sequel. Again, I have completely lost track of the name of these films, but I enjoyed the first one. Cute, funny and with the potential of being one of those re-watchable films, that do not come too often these days.

Hi stefancrosscoe
I am back now and I have been fairly busy this week which is why it has taken me a few days to reply to you and I hope everything has been going well for you and I am sorry to hear so many events have been getting postponed and deleted over in Norway this month and are they keeping anything going without crowds ‘cause they done that with a few things here until they were allowed to have people in attendance again and aired them on TV only. It is surprising how many things have reopened here now and Artists and Bands had to wait the longest for live concerts and music festivals to be allowed to resume and it was very generous of those Artists and Bands to come to our area and have a Relief concert to help all the people who were affected by the floods and hopefully the Government didn’t keep too much of that money for themselves like they did with some of the money raised for victims of the bushfires and drought last year by celebrities ‘cause they took over that and decided who was getting money and who wasn’t and how much they were getting and what it could be spent on.
That’s great you were able to participate in the ‘Norway Cup’ in 1998 and you must have been pretty good at Football when you were young to get in that and Beccy and I used to play Football too when we were kids and I was never great at Football to be honest but Beccy was and she won trophies, medals and ribbons playing Football, Basketball and Netball while I was good at Ice Skating, Bowling, Tennis, Volleyball, Netball and Ping Pong and are you good at any of those? I still play some of those games now with my Nieces and Nephew when they come to visit or stay for a couple of days and we taught them how to play and we’re planning on doing the same with my youngest Niece, Kylie when she is older and I am looking forward to teaching her a lot of other things. We have a 10 Pin Bowling Alley and a Tennis Court not far from our house and we go to both but when we play Tennis with my Niece (Courtney) in our backyard our Malshis (especially Occy) like to join in () and Occy takes the ball and runs way with it and makes you chase him around the backyard to get it back ‘cause he does not like us playing with balls unless we are playing fetch with him and thinks all balls are his and he learned from Swiper the Fox and is a ‘Dora the Explorer’ Fan and has ‘Dora’ everything here.
Yeah. I think every Artist and Band has been accused of selling out at some point of their careers and it only takes the smallest of changes to set certain fans off and you don’t realise how important their look is to some people until they do something like cut their hair and cause fans to have breakdowns () and then they are no longer the same person they were to them when they had long hair and I noticed some will even turn on their so-called favourite singers when they find out they are dating or getting married to a singer they don’t like and feel they are in charge of their personal lives and they are the kind of fans that annoy me the most. I agree with you about Rush and I think ‘Counterparts’ had some great songs on it and I have played that album the most out of all their 90s albums and I don’t know if you have heard ‘Vapor Trails’ but they released a remix of that album in 2013 and I think the remix sounds better than the original and it is not often I will say that about Remixes and one other album I will mention which is a rerecorded album is Harem Scarem’s ‘Mood Swings II.’ Wow. I didn’t know Talk Talk’s former record label tried to sue them for changing their style ‘cause they didn’t think the album they recorded could be successful and I knew Talk Talk went through some changes but didn’t know they changed that much around that time ‘cause I have only heard a few of their songs but will listen to some more.
Over here they count Talk Talk as One Hit Wonders for ‘It’s My Life’ and when No Doubt covered the song in 2003 the original sound enjoyed somewhat a short revival ‘cause many young people wanted to hear what it sounded like compared to No Doubt’s version. It is pretty sad how Talk Talk ended up and there have been a few bands break up over things like that and you could tell their heart was no longer in it listening to their last album and ‘Til Tuesday was actually one of those bands according to Aimee Mann and she had been wanting to end the band for a while and go solo but her record label wouldn’t let her and that was why there was a 5 year gap between ‘Everything’s Different Now’ and her first solo album, ‘Whatever’ which was very different than ‘Til Tuesday. Speaking about changes in musical styles have you heard Faith No More and Mike Patton’s side band Mr Bungle ‘cause that is one really different sounding band and the only album I really liked was ‘California’ but I think it was good how he was able to do something totally different without changing Faith No More.
I am glad you re-watched ‘Hudson Hawk’ last summer and enjoyed it and it did take a lot of negative feedback from people when it first came out ‘cause it was very different than Bruce’s other films but I liked it and have re-watched it multiple times over the years and the scene where Bruce and Danny break into singing ‘Swinging on a Star’ was really funny and I wish he had done more Action Comedy movies like that and his character in ‘Hudson Hawk’ was more like how he was in ‘Moonlighting’ and that is one of my Aunt’s favourite shows. I liked the ‘Sherlock Holmes’ movies with Robert Downey Jr too and I haven’t watched many Sherlock Holmes’ movies but those I enjoyed and have you seen his movie, ‘Hearts and Souls’ ‘cause that was one of his older ones I liked. It is funny how he was able to make such a big comeback later in his career ‘cause there was a time when his acting career was not in the best place and few people would have guessed back when he was in ‘Ally McBeal’ he would go onto become a big star again with ‘Iron Man’ and maybe Rob Lowe should have tired for a superhero role too.
Something I forgot to mention about Pierce Bronson with the James Bond movies the other day was just like Roger Moore I heard they originally wanted him to play James Bond much earlier and he got offered the role when he was in ‘Remington Steel’ and they were looking for a replacement actor for Roger Moore and he turned it down the first time ‘cause he thought he was too young to play James Bond at the time and told them if they wanted him later he would do it and one other Actor that was in the running to play James Bond before Timothy Dalton got the role was Robert Wagner from ‘Hart to Hart’ and he would have been interesting in the role. It is strange Timothy Dalton decided to leave ‘cause he didn’t exactly go on to doing many bigger roles after James Bond and the TV Show, ‘Chuck’ which he played a villain in (that later turned out to be good) was the first thing I had seen him in for a long time and I think he was good in the role. One thing I liked about ‘License to Kill’ was how they brought the friendship between James and Felix to the front of the movie and gave Felix a significant role after mostly having him in small appearances in the movies and I think they should have Felix in the movies more since he is his best friend.
You make some good points about the later Pierce Bronson movies and they did feel generic in some ways with the things they done in them and ‘Die Another Day’ was pretty terrible and it felt like they were getting tired of making Bond movies and didn’t know what to do with him anymore and ending it there was probably best for everyone. I heard a couple of years ago they are planning on making a prequel movie to James Bond which will focus on James when he was younger and less experienced and show how he become 007 and I think that could be a good idea for a movie too since it would be very different than what we have seen before and they could make it that he is clumsy and makes all these mistakes to begin with and gets better. I heard some fans were against having Roger Moore as James Bond ‘cause of the colour of his hair ‘cause they brought that up when people were saying Daniel Craig didn’t have the right look and hair colour and that reminds me do you think James Bond has always been the same character ‘cause some believe it is just a codename like M and Sean Connery, Roger Moore, Pierce Bronson and Daniel Craig for example were all different characters and that would explain the differences if it is true and they do acknowledge he had a Wife that was killed but that sadly wouldn't be too uncommon in their profession and I don't recall them using Tracy's name again.
It would be good to have Michelle Pfieffer back as Catwoman and they could bring back some others too like Chris O'Donnell and have him as Nightwing. It was sad how fast the Superman franchise declined and I always liked the second movie the most and did you know there were two different versions of that? I think Quest for Peace was better than the third movie and I thought the third was pretty silly and I heard originally it was supposed to have Braniac as the main villain and Supergirl was going to be in it and I am not sure how they went from that to what we got. We did get 'Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman' after the movies though which I loved so we weren't without Superman on our screens for long. You're welcome for the email address and time does fly and it is already the start of a new week here and I am glad you liked the 'Paw Patrol' trailer and it is very cute and I have heard they are planning on making a live action with real dogs at some point too. I love cute animal movies and have lost count of how many I might have seen he one you are talking about but can't remember and I forget titles too. One album I am pretty excited about at the moment is the Beach Boys' 'Feel Flows' which you can read about below and I am glad we are getting all this unreleased Beach Boys music and I think we will eventually get their unreleased album, 'Adult Child' in full and do you like the Beach Boys 'cause I am a big fan and have all their albums. Have a good weekend and I look forward to hearing from you again. ultimateclassicrock.com/beach-boys-feel-flows-box/
