I defy anyone with even a "wee drap" o' Scottish blood to listen to this whole song without getting at least a teensy bit misty-eyed.

Hi Stefancrosscoe
Thank you for the birthday wishes and I am happy to say I had a wonderful birthday on Saturday and even though we couldn’t have a lot of people here for it like we were going to it was still nice having my Sister and her family here for the day and they stayed for lunch, dinner and dessert and my Aunt and Uncle came to visit for a couple of hours in the morning and since then I have had some more of my family and friends come to see me and my friend (Judy) spent the day with me yesterday and we had lunch at the park and took Occy and Sally with us and I have another one of my Cousins and her Husband coming over to have dinner with us tomorrow night. I wasn’t expecting things to change so dramatically in such a short amount of time and it has got even worse over the past few days and we have had over 170 cases now and a lot of areas in our state including the Greater Sydney region and the Blue Mountains have gone into Lockdown for the first time since last year and thankfully we live outside the Lockdown areas but where I work isn’t and my work has had to close down for the next 2 weeks.
Sadly it might have to stay closed even longer depending on how long the Lockdown lasts and it does not look too promising at the moment with all the new cases we are having and it is now worse than the Outbreak they had in Victoria a couple of months ago. For some reason this new strand seems to be infecting more young people than any other strand of the Coronavirus we have had too which has a lot of parents worried including my Sister and the School holidays have started now but it looks like they might be staying closed when the kids are supposed to return. I am hopeful it won’t last for too long ‘cause there are a lot of shops in the Lockdown areas that were hit hard with the Lockdown last year and can’t afford to stay closed for that long again and my family and friends that can’t work are pretty disappointed over it but we are lucky to be living outside the Lockdown areas ‘cause we don’t have to follow the strict rules they do and even though we have the five person guest limit we don’t get fined for going outside and we haven’t had any cases in our area yet which is another good thing but I probably shouldn’t write that or I will jinx us.
Glad to hear you had such a nice birthday party. But sorry about the outbreak situation, but I guess this might soon take place in Norway, once again, as it seems like the numbers are going the wrong way, for a few days now. I usually do not read up on that too often or much, but I feel for the shop owners, who as you mentioned, might not survive another round of all of this. It is nice to have smaller birthdays sometimes with only a few people and I have had birthdays where I have been sick with the flu and Beccy still stayed home and looked after me and made them memorable but I only turn 40 once so I was hoping to celebrate it with a big party and my family and friends were too and it picked a lousy time to return. Oh. Don’t feel bad. it is good your city is seeing more restrictions eased and as I said we have been really lucky here in New South Wales to not need to have as many Lockdowns as Victoria has had for example and we have been able to go about with our daily lives and not worry too much about getting the virus so it was bound to come back at some point and I hope things continue to get better where you live but I can’t blame you for being worried about the summer vacation break coming up. No. There is not a lot of good news going around even when it is not about the Coronavirus and pandemic but one amusing story a lot of people here have been talking about is this one here (below) and even the Premier of Western Australia was having a good laugh about this when he was talking about our state the other day.
www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/jun/28/buck-naked-nude-sunbathers-fleeing-deer-fined-for-breaking-sydney-lockdown
Bushfires are scary and the big ones we had in late 2019/early 2020 were some of the worst fires we have ever seen and I was worried they would get our house ‘cause they did come pretty close to our town at one point but thankfully they didn’t and if they had we would have got our pets and some of our belongings and left and not stayed to fight it ‘cause fires like that are way too dangerous and we had some people sadly lose their lives trying to defend their homes while others that stayed still lost their homes too and the fires just grew too big and out of control and couldn’t be stopped no matter what the Firefighters tried to do. Some Firefighters also lost their lives fighting them and surprisingly not from the actual fires themselves but the smoke ‘cause it was so thick and heavy they had trouble breathing and some people’s pets died miles away from the smoke coming over. The only good thing about when Arsonists light fires here is when it burns their houses down too and that has happened to some Arsonists here and the ridiculous thing is they expect people to feel sorry for them then and it takes an evil person to light some of the fires they did when we had the bushfires and some were real assholes and waited until the fires were put out in towns and then went back and lit more.
The smoke is usually what is the most lethal threat, and of course, when one also is thrown into such a chaotic and dangerous situation, the body goes in panic mode, which is normal, but it makes breathing much harder, and yeah, the smoke is a terrifying enemy, that many sadly do not fear as much as the the fire itself, and think they can outlast or just continue on, but it can be a matter of life or death, just within a few seconds, if the lungs is filled with enough smoke. We had a fire situation on the 9th floor, in my building a month ago. Sadly, it caused the life of an elder woman, but thankfully, nobody else got hurt, and the fire was put out by the firemen, before it spread too far. However, by a random "mistake" (I do this from time to time, as my dad also live in the same neighborhood, and on the 9th floor, so today I just punched in number 9, when I was in the elevator, where as I am living on the second floor, but had my bicycle and some heavy grocieries with me) I ended up at the wrong floor. And while I stuck my head out of the elevator, I could still smell the smoke from the fire, several weeks back. And yeah, it makes you think of how much damage a "little" fire can do, and then you see the huge bushfires going on, and yeah, it must be hell on earth, to be trapped in those tragic situations. But also thinking of how long it will take, until things will come back to normal, not just for the human population, but animals and nature itself, which I guess will heal but it might take some time. Rage is a music show that airs here in Australia on ABC and I have not watched it for years now and I don’t think it is as popular as it used to be ‘cause people can watch You Tube now and don’t need to wait for a music video to come on they want to watch but it was popular when I was younger and we have some old VHS tapes we recorded of RAGE and I used to leave the video player recording it since it was on late at night and went all the way through to the morning and I could fast forward through the show until I found the videos I wanted to see minus the rubbish. I think you are right about M2M getting back together some day to record new music and from what I have heard they didn’t break up on bad terms like some other bands and duos have and a lot of the bands that did have gotten back together now too and put the past behind them and I can see Oasis doing that eventually even though Liam and Noel keep saying they won’t. It was surprising how different Marit Larson’s solo material was compared to M2M and I think it was always the type of music she wanted to perform but the record labels made Marion and her do Pop and I told you how Ronan Keating said Boyzone was supposed to be a Rock band like Oasis, Blur and the Stone Roses but did you that David Cassidy wanted to do Hard Rock and record albums like Alice Cooper, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin but the network in charge of ‘The Partridge Family’ wouldn’t let him record albums like that ‘cause it was too different than the type of music on the show and thought it would alienate listeners.
Yeah. A lot of Artists and Bands from your country have had success around the world and I think the internet has helped some of the newer ones reach listeners they wouldn’t have reached before and I wouldn’t say Jorn has had the success of A-HA but he is pretty well known to Melodic and Hard Rock fans and has headlined some music festivals and toured with some well-known Acts and he has been praised by some Classic Rock Artists too and Ronnie James Dio who Jorn recorded a Tribute album of after he passed away was a fan of his. I think you will like him and apart from his own songs Jorn has recorded some great covers of other Artists and Bands like Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Kiss, Dio, Bryan Adams, The Eagles, Thin Lizzy, Journey and even John Farnham. You’re and I know of The Church and we have some of their albums and they are a great band and you might have to look online for some of their albums ‘cause I have talked to some people online from other countries that have had a hard time getting albums by Australian Artists and Bands and they have ended up costing them more than they expected and I don’t know why they make it so difficult.
The funny thing about RAGE, is that I thought it was some music program from the late 80s or early 90s, which most focused on hard rock, metal and grunge, and all of a sudden there would be boybands, girlbands and all kind of lighthearted songs, that were anything I would immediately think of as something fitting under the logo of RAGE. I never knew or would have known about the David Cassidy and his love for hard rock, and also wanting to make that kind of music himself, if not for you writing it down. Sounds like it could have been very interesting. But yeah, I guess it might have upset av few of his fans and agents, being afraid as you said, it might have put a downer on his record sales. Which is sad, since it must be kind of tragic, that even at the height of success, one would think these artists had the freedom, to do what they wanted in the music studios, but money talks, and yeah, the rest is sadly far too well known in that industry. ABBA were huge here in the 70s and my Aunt is a big fan of theirs and she got to see them in concert when they toured Australia and three of our biggest tours by overseas bands were the Beatles, ABBA and Kiss in the 60s, 70s and 80s and their live shows sold out like crazy and they had screaming when they arrived and camping outside to get tickets to see them and it is rare when Artists and Bands get that type of reception here. Although Manilow fans were a wild crowd and I saw Barry Manilow with my Auntie when he toured here back in the 90s and we had front row seats and there were so many people screaming and when he came out on stage and Barry came up to my Aunt to say hello to her and she was so nervous she couldn’t speak to him and just starred and smiled () and there were some crying ‘cause he touched their hand. I have heard ABBA’s ‘The Visitors’ album and a lot of the final albums by bands that broke up or had members pass away aren’t often as known as their older ones which is a shame ‘cause some are pretty good and I always liked the Carpenters last album and think it is underrated but their more well-known albums were the best like with ABBA.
Styx are good and a lot of people I know that are not very familiar with them confuse them for being two different bands ‘cause their songs with Dennis DeYoung sound so different than their songs with Tommy Shaw and Dennis mostly sang the ballads while Tommy sang the rockers and the fanbase has been pretty divided since they kicked Dennis DeYoung out of the band over personal differences and some side with Dennis while others side with Tommy. I like both and find it funny how some of these bands have such divided fanbases when it comes to things like this and have you noticed some won’t even count the albums as official if a member is missing? () I agree with you about Michael Keaton as Batman and he was great in the role and we still haven’t really had a Batman that can fight on the level he can in the comics and uses all the gadgets but it didn’t take away from the role with him and it is good he was able to make a big comeback with ‘Birdman.’ I would like to see an older version of Batman in Live Action too but I think he would be best with a team and it would give them a chance to bring in a lot of the Bat Family members that have been left out of the movies so far.
A lot of non comic book readers tend to think of Batgirl and Robin when it comes sidekicks but in the comic books Batman has a whole team of superheroes he leads that are like the X Men of DC comics and he has got Batgirl, Nightwing, (Dick when he is older), Red Robin (Tim Drake) The Spoiler, Azrael, Batwoman, Orphan, Red Hood, Bluebird, Hawkfire/Flamebird, Ghostmaker, Clownhunter, The Signal, Robin (Damian Wayne), Batwing etc and they are very popular and many have had their own spinoff comic books and Dick Grayson has been majorly underused on screen and is the third biggest selling DC Superhero of all time below Superman and Batman as Nightwing. I agree with a lot of the things you wrote about fat-shaming and I will talk more about that with you next time or this reply will get too long. () and I hope you have a wonderful week.
Must have been quite a thrill for your auntie, but yeah, I have heard a few stories about people meeting up with their idols or famous folks, and they kind of freeze, but still hopefully for most, it will be a pleasant and unforgettable memory, as sadly, there are quite a few nasty stories of some famous acts, being everything but "classy" towards their fans. Of course, I do understand the need of privacy, but some seems to be infamous in how they treat their fanbase as, well, not very pleasantly, and that can one day backfire, badly. I just finished going through The Visitors by ABBA this weekend, and I gotta say, I quite enjoyed it, and while not among their best ones, it contains some of their best songs, but I guess by the time they hit the record studio, the second marriage within the band, was once more heading for a divorce, and they were probably very overworked and tired of it all, yet they still had saved some room, for a few last classic songs. Speaking of the Batman universe, I am not sure if I have already bring it up, or not, but do you enjoy the animated Batman universe as well? I just picked up a DVD of the upcoming or brand new Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 (2021), and where part 2, will be out in late july. Anyway, some of my favorite Batman films, have been through the animated universe, where I still hold Batman: Mask of the Phantasm (1993) and Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker (2000), as two of the best Batman films, along with the very solid animated versions of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and 2, which were out in 2012 and 2013. By the way, I caught up with a very enjoyable and fun romantic feel-good comedy, in Blast From the Past (1999), where Alicia Silverstone probably had her last good or successful performance, along with Brendad Fraser, Sissy Spaced and Christopher Walken. Will not reveal too much, but it was a very fun and lively movie, where specially Walken and Spaced delivered the goods. Yeah, I guess if I continue myself, it might be in need of dividing up the replies, so I will spare you for having to go through more than this one, for now. Anyway, it has been nice hearing you from you, and knowing your birthday went so well. Hopefully you will have just as good a upcoming weekend, and we might catch up sometime next week. Hi Stefancrosscoe
Thanks again and I enjoyed having my family and friends over on separate days too so not being able to have them there for a big birthday party turned out to not be so bad since I was still able to spend time with them but things still don’t look too good for me returning to work in the near future ‘cause our cases in New South Wales are now over 300 and we had another 35 cases announced yesterday and until they can slow down the spreading nobody knows how long this Lockdown is going to go for but what I do know is it’s unlikely to end this week. Being off work for the unforeseeable future gives me the chance to do a lot of things around the house I have been meaning to do but kept holding off doing before like redesigning our back verandah and since some of my family and friends can’t go to work at the moment either I can spend more time with them too and we are all lucky to live outside the Lockdown area because we can at least see each other whenever we want as long as we follow the visitor limits.
I am sorry to hear your numbers are going the wrong way again in Norway too and hopefully it is just a temporary spike and doesn’t lead to any strong restrictions coming back and places having to close again ‘cause when it comes to Lockdowns there is nothing worse than finally having freedom only to have it snatched from you once again and that just seems cruel. Have there been any problems with the vaccines getting to people and are they making your health workers take the vaccines or at least get tested regularly ‘cause that’s becoming even more of a problem here now and we have multiple people working in and outside of Covid Wards that have tested positive to the Coronavirus but were not vaccinated or getting tested on a day to day basis and in that line of work it is very important you are for the health of yourself and those around you and I am not sure why they would knowingly put themselves in such risky situations where they can easily get the virus. It is going to be interesting to see what life is like for everybody once this is truly over and we are all safe again and there will be a big gap on the news for sure ‘cause they talk about the Pandemic all the time.
You are right about the smoke from bushfires and it is surprising how thick it can get and there were some firefighters that were said to have gotten lost in the smoke going towards the fire and that was one of the ways they died ‘cause they were going around in circles breathing it in and to try to avoid the smoke we had people going up in special water helicopters dropping water on the fires and they have a special name but I can’t remember what it is at the moment but they were able to put quite a few of the larger fires out and get them under control. Some of them weren’t as safe as they thought they would be in them though and there was one that dropped Firefighters off on the other side of a big one and they got surrounded by the flames and couldn’t be saved. They also had an accident that lead to the deaths of some voluntary Firefighters that came from America to help us and I think most of the Firefighters that died were sadly voluntary ones and to know there are people who are willing to risks their lives like that to try and save towns without even getting paid is an example of why we should never give up on believing the good in humanity even though there are some people that do evil things.
That must have been very worrying having a fire like that on one of the floors in the building you live in last month and I am glad you are okay and most people there didn’t get hurt but that is still sad an elderly woman passed away and was she someone you talked to? I am known to make mistakes and have accidents from time to time so I can relate to you doing that (lol but at least I am nowhere near as clumsy as I used to be ‘cause back then my Aunt would always pack breakable things away when I stayed at my Uncle and her house in case I knocked them over (lol) and I don’t know if you heard the song, ‘I Break Things’ by Erika Jo but my Aunt used to joke that was me. Yeah. A little fire can do a lot of damage and can easily grow and that was the case with many of the small fires the arsonists were lighting and they got bigger and merged with other fires to become Megafires and that is when you are best to get away ‘cause a regular hose won’t put them out and speaking of hoses have you ever seen a firehose being used or used one yourself ‘cause I have seen people literally get blown backwards using them ‘cause the impact is so strong and before then I thought that only happened in cartoons. lol
No. Rage usually plays all genres of music and some nights they play certain genres more than others and they would have nights where they would play Hard Rock and Heavy Metal but other nights they played Rap, Alternative Rock or Classic Rock and it was usually when they played their countdown of all the most popular videos for the week they would play the boy bands and girl bands like The Spice Girls, Backstreet Boys, Westlife and Human Nature. It is pretty interesting how many singers want to perform one genre of music but end up doing another that couldn’t be any more different ‘cause it is the one that is popular at the time and for some of them they get used to it but others spend a lot of their careers regretting it and it is surprising how much control the record labels have over them and even when they are having hit after hit and selling millions of records they aren’t always in control of their careers and did you hear why Taylor Swift left Big Machine Records? Money does talk and most major record label executives now are just looking to make money now and it is a shame ‘cause as a number of successful Rock bands from the past have said they would have never been famous if the labels they were under didn’t take a chance on them doing something different.
There were so many Classic Rock Artists and Bands that didn’t find success until their second or third albums as I wrote about before and many labels won’t give them that many chances now so we may be missing out on that could have been a lot bigger but were seen as flops or one hit wonders ‘cause they couldn’t succeed sooner. Yeah. It was a thrill for my Aunt meeting Barry Manilow (lol) and she is still embarrassed over how she froze and couldn’t talk but enjoyed the concert and it is pretty funny how people can freeze like that over meeting their favourite celebrities but my Aunt is definitely not alone and I think Barry would have been used to that. I have heard of some pretty nasty experiences fans have had with their favourite singers and celebrities and some singers have had with crazy fans too and I think celebrities’ heads get too big and they forget it was their fans that mad them famous and they wouldn’t be there if it wasn’t for them and I have met a lot of Artists and Bands at concerts, music festivals and other places over the years and I am happy to say most were good experiences.
There were the occasional few bad experiences I had though and Natalie Bassingwaite had to be the worst and I heard Ted Nugent has been a real pig to some of his fans but I am not sure if he is as bad as he used to be ‘cause some change have changed when they got older. I am glad you enjoyed ‘The Visitors’ by ABBA and I agree with you that it had some great songs even though it was not their best and a lot of my favourite albums aren’t always seen as the best by Artists and Bands and I have come to really like some of their lesser known albums. By the way, did you hear Agnetha Fältskog's solo album, 'A' from 2013? It is sad ABBA broke up when they did and very, very surprising they didn't get back together to record more albums like a lot of other bands do 'cause they were one of the biggest bands in the world and few bands reach the level of popularity they did in their day but at least they went out on top. When you have members married in the band break up the chances are it is not going to last but then there are surprisingly some bands that consist of divorced couples like the White Stripes and I thought Jack and Meg were siblings but they were a divorced couple and do you like the White Stripes 'cause Beccy is a fan of theirs and I think they have some good songs but don't like them as much as she does.
Yes. I do enjoy the animated Batman movies even more than the live action and I also liked 'Batman: The Animated Series' and 'The Batman' (Animated TV Show) which I think was underrated and had some good episodes and my favourite animated movies often change when we re-watch them but at the moment they are 'Batman: Under the Red Hood', 'Batman: Bad Blood', 'Batman: Mystery of the Batwoman', 'Batman: Assault on Arkham' and 'Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero.' I like the other ones you mentioned too and did you see the Batman/ Superman movies too 'cause I liked those and my favourite was 'Superman/Batman: Apocalypse' which had Supergirl in it. I sadly haven't got to see 'The Long Halloween Part One' 'cause it is not out here in Australia yet but it is going to be sometime in the next two weeks and I am looking forward to seeing it and liked the graphic novel. There was talk about adapting 'Death of the Family' (not 'Death In the Family') into an animated movie a couple of years ago and I hope they do that next along with 'Batman: Battle for the Cowl' (which has been rumoured) and 'Batman: Eternal.' I also liked the recent 'Wonder Woman: Bloodlines', 'Teen Titans: The Judas Contract' and 'Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay' animated movies and if you haven't seen them I would suggest checking them out.
I have seen Alicia Silverstone's 'Blast From the Past' and it has been a while since I saw it but I remember seeing it and enjoying it and I have seen a few of her other movies too like 'Excess Baggage', 'Clueless', 'The Babysitter', 'The Crush', 'True Crime' and 'Who Gets the Dog' and she was pretty big at one point of her career and she was in some of the Aerosmith music videos too and we were talking about her playing Batgirl recently and I said I thought she was better suited to play Supergirl and she was one of the Actresses actually lined up to play Supergirl in a movie that sadly didn't go through in the 00s which also had Sarah Michelle Gellar and Monica Potter in the running and I do wonder if her career would have been more successful if she had gotten that role instead of Batgirl. She was also the original choice to play Elle Woods in 'Legally Blonde' which may have seen her become a lot bigger but the role ended up going to to Reese Witherspoon which I think Reese was the better pick for. Anyways, it has been nice talking to you again and I look forward to hearing from you again and hope you have been well.

Good to hear that you keep in touch and have a nice relationship with your close ones, and yeah, having too much time on ones hands, it can give you certain benefits that we often might skip or ignore within our own homes, as I have noticed I have gotten a bit more "tidy" with cleaning up and going through my apartment, even if I should probably do it more frequently. Having just watched the great match between England and Denmark last night, I am surprised at how they would let in an almost full stadion of crazed football fans, knowing that it could sadly all lead straight back to square "one", but I sure hope that will not be the case, this time. I love the atmosphere and sound of a fully packed stadion, but knowing the potential risk behind all the fun and positive things, I think it is far too early to be all positive about the outcome, yet. Yeah, the Delta virus seems to be the latest topic, and I keep reading up the 4th wave that many predicts will arrive later this autumn, so I guess we will just have to wait and see where it goes next. I believe most of the health workers have been getting the vaccines, but again, there might always be a few rare cases, and hopefully it will be not something that might cause any danger to them or the patients they work with. That is very sad to hear, as these brave souls who put their own lives on the line, all in order to save others, because of the nasty and vicious work by a few cretins, who sadly might in some cases, end up doing the same damage, over and over, if the possiblity arrives, which is most likely. I remember a few cases, from years ago, when a guy who would lit up several apartments and buildings in Oslo, and the way the police and firemen worked to figure out who did it, was always taking notice of the crowd of people, arriving the different places where the fire had been started, and every once in a while, some of the people who were most interested in the work of the police and firemen, would be taken in for further questioning, and it was revealed that one of those a bit too "nosy" spectators, were the one responseble for all the fires, and they finally caught him, before he could take any lives and cause more harm. The lady who died, I never talked to, or met up with. I guess that is not too uncommon, when you live in these tall buildings, with lots of people, but then again, it is not often that I see my own next door neighbor either. I have never tried using a firehose, but I remember from back when I was a kid, that some firemen arrived during school day, and showed us how to put out the fire with one. I remember it was quite a powerful instrument, if one can call it that, and knowing how much water pressure it contains, and still the firemen will often have no chance of putting out the fire, even after almost a day of work, it makes you respect their work and also the dangers of fire itself, even more.
No, I cannot said I have heard about Taylor Swift, but yeah, I remember the stuff about Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson back in the early 00s, when they fought up against their record labels, which I think were the same owner, and I believe Carey was actually married to the creep, who looked more like some villain, straight out of a Martin Scorsese mobster movie. I am glad to hear, most of your experiences with musicians have been pleasant, rather than the opposite. But of course, like with most people, they might have a day off, too. Still, those who get too "big" to even bother noticing their own fans, I guess that can come back and haunt them much later on.
Oh yeah, I remember quite a few stories back in the day, during the whole the the bands retro-rock craze, which went on with The Strokes, The Hives, The Vines, The Thrills and of course The White Stripes, and where several newspapers, wrote stories that Jack and Meg were brother and sisters, and it kind of got a bit creepy. I did own a few of their albums, but never quite got into them as much as I wanted to, where as they did however have a talent of coming up with some incredible songs, and speaking of the european football tournament which is ending on sundays final at Wembley stadium, they still do the huge crowd chanting version of Seven Nation Army, and I remember it seemed to start out back with Euro 2008, and has since been a stayer within the football society. I wonder what Jack and Meg thinks of it? I did caught up with Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 last weekend, and I kind of wished I had some good things to say about it, but sadly I thought it dragged on, and featured to many overused clichees, random scenes and sure, I have yet to read the novel, but something did just to sit well with me. I guess I went in, once more, with far too big expectations, but I am will pick up the part 2 later this month, but my hopes have surely been let down, a few times too many, with the newer Batman animated releases. Hope you will have a good weekend coming up, and that things in your country might ease down, soon. By the way, speaking of Australia, I did just watch the great australian suspense-thriller Road Games (1981), starring Stacy Keach and Jamie Lee Curtis, by Richard Franklin. I really enjoy the combination of adventure, suspense and black comedy, and of course how much it pays tribute to Alfred Hitchcock, and where I enjoyed also hearing lots of informative stories behind the film and making of it, where I believe the film started out, as Rear Window (1954) set inside a moving vehicle, and where the driver would experience all kind of weird situations and people, but also be on the case of what he believes is a serial killer on the loose, in the desert. I think the film sadly got not the recognition it deserved, when it was releases, as most people thought of it, as a typical slasher release, because of bad promoting, Jamie Lee Curtis and the striking giallo/slasher looking movie poster, but the film is really quite a unique blend, of different types of genres, and it works very well, all together. Along with The Road Warrior, which also makes great use of the road and desert, both of these fantastic made australian films, were released in 1981, and would surely be among some of the best made films of that era.
