... has been extended to include the players and staff from the Cleveland Browns. Thanks to a request by the Cleveland mayor, Trump agreed upon barring the team from coming back to the United States from London where they just lost badly on Sunday morning, advancing to a 0-8 record.
The Cleveland mayor said "It's just too much shame for our city! Look, they actually played better in the first half there in London so that environment did them some good. Just keep them there! And please make sure they remove the name Cleveland from their franchise. The London Browns name sounds a lot better!"
The London mayor protested but Trump doesn't like him; he is Muslim and well, has a brown complexion so Trump felt that keeping the team there was appropriate. His administration contacted the team and before agreeing with the Cleveland mayor's request (the team members did not oppose it since they are afraid of the negative climate against them in Cleveland), made them promise that they will not kneel during the US national anthem in their future London games. Trump added "if you want to kneel when they play that awful little song God Save the Queen, I don't care. America First!"
So, it's been done. London's mayor feels that it will be racially insensitive to deport a team named The Browns so for now they are staying in London.
The Browns then requested access to the BAFA National Leagues, the British American Football Association (they do exist, check them out at britishamericanfootball.org/ ) that coordinates a total of 70 teams in England, Scotland, and Wales, who play at an amateur level (both contact football and flag football).
They feature teams such as the Bristol Aztecs, the Farnham Knights, and the London Blitz; I kid you not.
Sadly, the request was denied. They have the Premiership, the Division 1, and the Division 2. Not even the Division 2 - which includes the excellent Aberdeen Roughnecks, the Walney Terriers, and the Portsmouth Dreadnoughts - wanted the Browns. Their spokesperson said "We figured that accepting those blokes would dilute down the level of competition enjoyed by our lads!" The Browns said, "not even flag football?" The BAFA official however was inflexible.
So, it hasn't been decided yet where the London Browns will be playing. To be continued.
