Those who love Classic Who will be familiar with Chris Boucher, writer of some stories, also involved in Blake's 7.
In 1986 he created a rather lovely nine part series called Star Cops, that despite its kitsch title was a serious look at the not too distant future. Set mostly on the Moon it dealt with an underfunded derided unwelcome police force dealing with crime among the early Moon settlers, or workers. It made shrewd guesses as to what 2030 would be like, when the series is set, and is very enjoyable and on youtube. A bit here from episode 6, I've chosen this one as it starts off really well with a genuine scary moment.
