whata scrapper! watch the GMan here - Mike Gminksi - as he strategically and smartly stays out of a scuffle with Barkley, Mahorn, Laimbeer, Thomas, Rodman as a melee ensues.....crafty devil - staying out of the fistacuffs hoping for ejections so he can stay in the game and own that GMAN Jumper from the baseline!

It's the primary difference between Cricket and Baseball. The ball bounces. Unpredictably. Plus, it's actually much harder to hit a 'rising' ball than a 'falling' one, regardless of speed. Of course Cricket batters have advantages over Baseball hitters. No foul territory, a flat bat and no 'hit and run' requirement. Analogically, you can ground one straight to the short stop, and stay right where you are.

He had nothing to do with that place. It's a PR stunt by the town to attract tourists. Wish they'd send his body back to Oklahoma where he was from, kind of a sad story.
It does look like a nice place, I'll say that.

The Whirlwind Jimmy White - Christ 6 world finals, and lost all of them. It still haunts me, imagine what it must do to Jimmy White. Genius though. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lCsTKvUbhYI almost forget these days that Gary Lineker was one of my first sporting heroes, as he is better known now for being a TV presenter who makes bad jokes. Retired on 48 goals for England, one behind the then record set by Bobby Charlton. Christ, could he not have just carried on for a few more games to at least equal the record? Also, I remember the Seoul Olympics in 88, and I had the Daley Thompson Decathlon game on my zx spectrum. I was only 6 and my mum told me he was guaranteed to win gold, I mean he'd be dominating the event for years. Ends up finishing 4th. Not even a fucking medal. I'm beginning to think everyone I support and love gets jinxed.

Thierry Henry. Grace, skill, poise. A demigod among Arsenal fans.

At least you didn't love Gazza. Or Stuart Pearce.

I liked Steve Davis, and grew on me more as he got older and shitter, got a good sense of humour too. Wasn't a big fan of Hendry obviously, after all those times he robbed Jimmy White, seriously would it have killed him to just let White win once, but even he grew on he as he got older and less dominant.
