After losing the first leg 0-1 to much bigger fellow Argentinian club River Plate, Lanus pulled a minor miracle by beating River 4-2 after trailing 0-2 at 30 minutes.
Their opponents in the final is to be confirmed tonight, but it will probably be Gremio from Brazil, who beat Barcelona 0-3 in Ecuador in the first leg - unless a second miracle is in the works!

Lanus, eh. That 4-2 is quite a thing. When I used to follow their league you'd be lucky to see more than two goals in most games as I remember. But good luck to them.

As expected, Barcelona from Guayaquil (Ecuador) was not able to reverse last week's 0-3 loss to Gremio at home, even if they did win the away return match one-nil.
Gremio will now play in their fifth Libertadores final, to try to win their third title. First leg in Brazil, second in Argentina (none of that European "single match in a neutral location" nonsense in South America).
