The Wilby Conspiracy (1975); Secondhand Lions (2003); and definitely the Italian Job (1969).

He has made some great movies but has become a parody of himself for the last two or three decades. His famous, and easily parodied, voice is affected to mask his native Cockney accent and it gets on my nerves. He basically plays the same character whatever the film.
I particular like the films where he plays characters close to his roots like:
The Ipcress File (his best?) Mona Lisa (supporting role as a very nasty piece of work) Last Orders (a good rather than great film but a very "genuine" role for Caine)
Just looked at his filmology and was astonished to see that his starring role in Zulu was his breakthrough. He had jumped straight from uncredited bit-parts. A great movie and immediately followed by The Ipcress File and the two following Harry Palmer films (nowhere near as good, but fun).
He was never that good again.

THE IPCRESS FILE has a great background score.

Two of his standout smaller roles were in CALIFORNIA SUITE and CHILDREN OF MEN.

Not among his best, but I enjoyed The Black Windmill (1974). Slow-moving kidnapping thriller directed by Don Siegel and co-starring Donald Pleasence. Some appreciation for very dry British humor is required to really get into this.

THE LAST VALLEY 1970.
When watching that I thought, damn, these days he is reduced to speeches about rubies the size of tangerines, he used to get some really nice dialogue.

Caine's autobiography Whatâs It All About? (1993) is a lot of fun. A later book is The Elephant to Hollywood (2010) which is an abridgement of the first with a new section "and then I moved into small supporting roles".

I like Noises Off very much. And he is hilarious in Miss Congeniality.

He was great in slimeboll roles too, like Mona Lisa 1986 , Little Voice 1998 and Shiner 2000.
He was also very likable in Educating Rita 1983, as a very unlikable person.

Play Dirty, The Man Who Would Be King, The Destructors, The Wrong Box, Battle of Britain, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels are some off the top of my head that are pretty good. Great actor, but does have some very bad films mixed in with overall decent ones. He has a handful of great films to his credit, that's for sure.
