i csant believe i am saying this but espn with craig burley and some otger brit and a few yanks. its funny...the brits are the unny ones , the yankst he serious ones
- i dont really get why we dont utilse these type off opinionated brits having a crack more often of the yawn fest of rio ferdinand and that scouse bloke or the odd scholes -
norally lesser players are the type to have a personality - our networks only seam to employ golden boot winners, in wc's i the league - WC player's , CL winers.
The only player with a bit of a sense of humour and is uplifting is Wright,

Bill Simmons with Cousin Sal, NFL picks.
I really don't listen to sports pods, they're overkill. Unless Simmons posts some discussion about historical nods or significance, when it's more a history delve than the 28th person to tell me why Alex Smith isn't really the MVP.

The only player with a bit of a sense of humour and is uplifting is Wright, Craig Burley used to do a lot of work for the now defunct Setanta Sports (or was it BT?). Anyway he used to do a lot of co-commentary and in the studio giving his opinion. The problem was I think, he was a bit marmite, a few people loved him but 90% hated him. When you get someone really opinionated like him they can sound a little slanted, so I imagine he probably attracted a lot of complaints. Viewers get very protective when they don't think their team is being given a fair shake. So he has been pretty much shoved off British TV and is now trolling the American viewers. I think Neville and Carragher are a pretty good balance when they work together on Sky, they can be quite insightful at times with things that aren't easy to pick up watching on TV, they give their opinion, aren't too middle of the road, and have a little bit of bantz (occasionally). I like Ian Wright as well, he is entertaining, and can occasionally give some insight into what kind of runs a striker should make, what technique they should have been using to finish a particular difficult chance etc. Most of it is pretty obvious but there is the occasional gem of insight. Michael Owen similar but a bit more dour.

Michael Owen similar but a bit more dour. the americans also hate him -but its a running joke and its only because he speaks the truth to them (the fans may love/hate him - but its the actual association that truly hates him!- he says simply your players are crap(USA)(bar pulisic) and there were issues from the grassroots to the top which needs changing to compete - he also didnt understand the reaction from the US losing the first two and no one cared - they still thought it was plain sailing !!) American international football is cool because we see them in a different light - but they just assume they are gifted the spot - however the media coverage after 2014 was that america did amazing and were one of the best teams which sparked more interest for 2018... however it was like a palace team under pulis v man city type game (usa v belgium). No where near as good technically but a great team effort from the usa to almost get a result. . YET here is the irony - the team basically told the US FA or whatever that kligsman was over training them and they got really tired .. They couldn't have put in that performance without that training - that's the simple reality, did they think` they were as good players by just defending and saving goals(13 saves i think - a world record at a world cup) - no they have to be extremely fit and organised) `so they praise themselves on hard work and then sack the manager because they don't want to work hard anymore - well its karma isnt it.. but the stupidity is beyond me - i am not saying the players are stupid - they probably just wanted a chill and didnt give a crap so much - but the US FA listening and agreeing is mad, and the fans , many created by there hard work lapped it up which is moronic. This made Burely go nuts and i am not surprised - its insane.. but most of the coverage is PL and CL so it's all good. they kind of know there stuff
