Nightmare for MCU haters. Disaster for Deadpool, X-Men and Apes fans. The genesis of the death of cinema.

Apes is finished and we've had nearly two decades of FoXMen films. Let it die already.

Disney is honestly bordering on becoming a full-fledged monopoly. They own Star Wars, Marvel, Indiana Jones, Pixar, Avatar, Pirates of the Caribbean, and soon maybe the X-Men and Apes as well? That's scary to me.
I mean, seriously, is DC next? Is that buyout inevitable?

Also proves without a doubt that when Eisner said in the 90s that he wanted Disney to be entertainer for the globe he wasn't kidding.

It’s not like the Star Wars films are worse than before or the Marvel films for that that matter were better before Disney bought them out.

Star Wars and Indiana Jones is under Lucasfilm and they are only worrying about Star Wars. Pirates of the Caribbean and Pixar is Disney. Avatar? That's Fox. Disney only has a park that's based on Pandora. If WB keeps going the way they are going then maybe DC is next. But I'd think Sony before WB. There's been rumblings about them selling.

As soon as the shares drop down again they'll be back at the Table.

Apparently. McMovies for franchises everywhere. If by "McMovie" you mean "consistently good", then yeah. I meant a mass-marketed formulaic consumer product designed to appeal to the "low-information voters" of the moviegoing world. So, you basically.

I don't know what's more embarrassing: that you think your little "correction" actually changed what I wrote or that you're proud of it. Nothing's wrong with mass marketing, seeing how there are billions of people in the world. And there's nothing wrong with setting a new standard (which is the same as "formulaic" when you get down to it) and there's nothing wrong with enjoying it. It's like asking if I should be ashamed of having black tea every morning with breakfast. I don't.

Agree on all OP point, except that I think (hope) it will not happen for regulatory and commercial reasons. I hear the negotiations have ended, if true that would a good sign - in M&A transactions, you never leave the negotiation table. There is more at stake here than a few X-rated fox men.

So wait... Fox is more interested in news and sports? So they want to give up on the movie side anyway?

Nightmare for MCU haters. Disaster for Deadpool, X-Men and Apes fans. The genesis of the death of cinema. Is there no reason if Disney does buy fox that they can't sell the rights to deadpool to someone else?
