Are advance reading copies of new books unusual to find and are they typically more valuable than the regular edition of a particular book? Found some on ebay and they looked interesting.

I bought some of them on the flea market which makes me think they aren't particularly valuable, but I might be wrong of course.

My late aunt had a bunch of them and I discovered that they were less valuable than the regular first editions in most cases. Most of them ended up in the free bin at the used book store.

I doubt they're valuable, but I scored one on ebay before the book was actually published, which was good because I was very keen to read it.
