I enjoyed the base game, buy I feel like Capcom cut out content for the stupid season pass bullshit.

I haven't played the full game but I did try the first demo when it came out, it was good but im a bit of a sissy and I jump at every small jump scare so I don't play many horror games, having said that though it was really atmospheric.
Are you a fan of the previous Resident Evil games? If so how does it stack up to previous games for you.

I'm interested, but I haven't played an RE game since Code: Veronica on the Dreamcast. Presumably they've sorted out that stupid "turn & move" control system that blighted the earlier games?

LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! LOVED IT! I really loved how they went back to the basics of you just being some poor schmuck by himself in a creepy mansion full of scientifically-altered horrors out for your blood! I loved the elements of P.T., Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hill Have Eyes, and other really good horror elements they borrowed from to create a terrifying cocktail of scares. The controls and combat are simple (though I wish they'd mapped the "heal" command a little differently), and its the most scared I've been while playing an RE game in YEARS.

I've been a long time fan of the franchise since the original back on the PlayStation and I would put it in my top 5! It's up there with Resident Evil 2 and 4. It plays like the original but in first person, it's a lot slower than the previous 2 but in a good way. You're not some over the top soldier with lots of ammo like in re 5 and 6, you get small amounts of ammo and health, especially on higher difficulties. It's a great throwback to the original game while still doing its own thing. The only thing I don't like is how little content there is in the game. In fact a lot of the stuff in the first dlc pack should have been unlockable for completing the game.

I thought it was painfully dull.

Not bad, but not great either.
Should've been third person in my opinion. Extra modes could've been better and maybe include atleast split screen coop for them (you don't need it in campaign, but extra modes become boring pretty fast if you're playing alone)
Atleast the only interesting DLC (Not a hero) is free, so you can skip all the extra modes and still see the full story.

Resident Evil 7 is
Blair Witch meets Cabin in The Woods Paranormal Activity Meets The Ring Wrong Turn Meets The Hills Have Eyes Hill Billy Paranormal Occasional slasher type Boring Horror style game. What's the problem, where is the problem, let's find out what it is, let's find out where it is, try and solve it, solve it, destroy it, move on, then have we got rid of the issue, who knows. Resident Evil 8 being the return of the enemy that tried to be killed, blah blah horror nonsense.
Resident Evil 4 Needs its direct Sequel and that being "Does Lord Osmund Saddler Return from the Dead?"
Resident Evil 4 As many of us known is the best game in the series. More twists and turns a than any of the games series.
Resident Evil 7 is basically as generic horror as you can get. My apologies for anyone who is affected by this comment.
